Vehicle Detail
In 1986 this was on of the last years for the first 7-series sedans from BMW. This is a very well preserved model that I have enjoyed for the past several years. I purchased this several years ago as a winter beater. After driving it for a few weeks I decided that this was too nice to be used as a winter beater and then spent the next several months making multiple changes and additions to this wonderful car. Since the motor was already running wonderfully, not leaking fluids or using them in between oil changes, all I did was replace hoses, belts and change fluids. Overall condition is very nice. Starts right up, drives, most electronics work as they should. I say most, like cruise does not work, couple seat directions don't work (like it will not recline all the way), heat works but a/c blower does not (this is an easy fix and I will include the resistor that needs replaces). All windows roll up and down, sunroof opens and closes, lights work, radio works (original), even the seat heaters still work. In addition, original spare (never seen the ground), tools, jack, original owners manual, BMW cassettes, and original window sticker ($41,770 in 1986!). The exterior is excellent shape for the year and still wears original paint. Shines up very nice and the chrome is excellent without any pitting. There are a few small scratches, nothing major but expected in the age of the car. There are three blemishes, small bit of rust on the rear under the drivers side tail light, and two areas on each front fender. On the interior, the flaws include a couple dash cracks which are hidden under the dash cover. Since I have owned it, I have added the following improvements and modifications: K&N filter, bored out throttle body, european tune chip (added 20hp), new KYB shocks and struts on H&R lowering springs, new front tie rods (left right and center), all new suspension bushings front and rear, 18in OEM wheels with good tires, yellow high beams, all new slotted and drilled rotors and pads and new Ansa exhaust and muffler center and rear sections. All together I've spent over $4000 in these upgrades and repairs to make it a fun and reliable cruiser. This is a reliable car that has never left me stranded, starts every time, and is wonderful around town or on the interstate. The upgrades lower it to give it a "stance" and corners like on rails. I get more compliments and thumbs up on this car than anything else I have owned (which includes 911s, hot rods, other BMWs, and 69 Camaro). It is classic, sporty, and you will not see one on every corner. On Jan-29-16 at 13:32:57 PST, seller added the following information: Uploaded pictures of engine and dash per request. Also, picture number 9 is of the front drivers seat without the sheepskin cover. Looks barely used, IMO. Lastly, the racks are not a part of the car sale. If interested, I also have a euro front bumper that the new owner can purchase for $250 firm. I am not going to sell separately.
