Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a Lotus Elise that was meticulously maintained and serviced prior to being damaged during a high-performance driving event at Laguna Seca. This vehicle does not run and must be restored prior to being returned to service. The title is clean, is not a salvage title, and is not encumbered in any way. This auction includes the damaged original vehicle, a stripped and modified chassis and spare engine and a dual-axle 17' trailer for track days, etc. I am the original owner and it was purchased fully-loaded with all 2005 model year options except track pack, e.g.:Touring PackSport PackHardtopMetallic PaintLimited Slip DifferentialHuge inventory of parts, race mods and accessories are being sold as a lot, including:Spare chassis (Aluminum tub and crash structure)Spare engineRace-prepped fuel tankExtra set of standard alloy wheelsInline oil cooler/heat exchanger (ties into cooling system)Extra set of sillsExtra set of doors/door skinsDetachable race steering wheelBraided stainless steel brake linesRace A-arms - front and rearBig brake kit - front and rearSchroth 4-pt Harnesses and Anti-submarine beltsProfessionally modified stock seats for 4-pt harnessesLotus Elise Short Throw Shifter KitLotus Elise Heater Bypass KitNumerous Sector 111 Accessories including Harness Bar, etc.Official Shop/Service and Parts ManualsToo many other items to list...This auction listing includes a Big Tex 17' dual-axle car trailer with electric brakes, winch, tire rack, spare tire, tongue box, etc. HPDE Pics of undamaged car from Thunderhill: https://flic.kr/s/aHsj83bPBR HPDE Pics of post-Laguna Seca damage and restoration: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjaF6fuT LotusTalk Thread describing the incident: http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f231/kiss-k-wall-laguna-no-es-seca-need-non-authorized-chassis-repair-ideas-69001/ Photos of Big Tex Trailer and Spare Chassis: https://flic.kr/s/aHskqJzpU3 ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD "AS IS" - BUYER TO VERIFY CONDITIONSELLER OFFERS NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEES OF PERFORMANCE OR CONDITIONOn Dec-09-15 at 08:45:54 PST, seller added the following information: I had a question from a member of LotusTalk about the condition of the car - My reply is probably helpful to other bidders - To put a finer point on it, if someone feels it's not exactly as described, I'll relist and life will go on. Thank you for your interest! Hello Exigegus- The car is absolutely pristine rear of the A-pillar. I am OCD when it comes to neatness - Of course, it's a California car and had never seen weather and rarely driven in the wet (with the exception of the track event...). It was in a heated garage in the mountains until we moved to the city this June (of 2015). It is on the trailer being sold, and covered, in a storage facility - No room or shop with lift at our new city home. There are a ton of photos on Flickr, although few of the interior and engine bay. I may run out to the storage place to snap photos. The instrument cluster and steering rack/wheel has been removed to facilitate the rebuild. In any case, it's absolutely spotless/pristine as one might expect of a 4,660 mile California car that's owned by someone with severe compulsions about such things. Best, JohnOn Dec-09-15 at 16:11:28 PST, seller added the following information: It was not explicitly stated, but the some of the other stuff I have includes: Enough correct/undamaged A-arms and brake kits to complete the original vehicle (with the option to install the race-oriented adjustable A-arms/wishbones and front/rear brake kits). The spare chassis was a roller w/o shocks or any interior. race-type shifter, racing brake reservoirs to support bias adjustment, removable racing steering wheel, competition bushings, etc. As said, four standard alloy wheels with unusable heavily damaged rolling tires are included. The chassis was stripped of all of the rolling bits/suspension and it must be transported on a flat trailer (I used a Harbor Freight 4'x8' trailer. It's only a few hundred pounds and is an easy lift for a few guys). The spare motor is complete/original, however these is no ECU. I have a replacement radiator and AC condenser and a set of electric fans (all were pulls from another Elise and all are used, but intact, and ready to be reused). I have enough replacement headlamp assemblies to restore the original car (but no driving lights - should still be available as a service kit/accessory). The chassis comes with one sill/rocker attached and I have another. I also have a separate set of doors/skins (but no glass, etc - all of that was stripped from the race chassis...). What's NOT obviously there for completion: A front clam and some of the fiddly bits/fasteners for clam. The right-front forged factory wheel should probably be replaced, but the mounted tire never broke the bead. I have major sections of the front clam that we not damaged and have been trimmed if someone wanted to have a go at patching it up (I figured I'd just buy a new front clam and/or go with one of the fiber carbon replacements that had been available in the past.) In short, pretty much all the pieces are there with the exception of the front clam. While I did get a replacement oil cooler (there were two in this model), I was going to remove them and use the oil-to-cooling system inline cooler and lose the weight of all of the oil tubing (and its heat through the sills!) associated with the front-mounted oil coolers. THIS IS A REASONABLE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT'S STILL NEEDED - IT IS NOT A GUARANTEE. I offer this up to improve your awareness of what you might be taking on if you take this lot of parts home. In short: You have a ton of parts to make substantial progress towards completion of the restoration project and you have enough left over to get well more than 1/2 way to building a track toy (or you have spares for some really aggressive use of the completed vehicle!). Of course, you'll have a stout trailer to use or sell as it suits you.On Dec-12-15 at 11:07:56 PST, seller added the following information: New Photos! View them here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskqVQGn7 Thank you for your bids and interest! On Dec-14-15 at 12:33:13 PST, seller added the following information: A bidder asked about the availability of some parts that are not clearly shown in the interior photos - For the benefit of all others, I wanted to share my reply: I have *all* of the original interior parts, e.g. the Momo steering wheel with airbag, the instrument cluster and original floor mats/carpeting for the interior, as well as the lining for trunk and the original battery box for the full size battery, etc (There is a smaller race battery and custom Sector 111 bracket installed now).I have a radiator and AC condensor that are pulls - I would expect it to be just coolant and a fresh battery and gas to get it started after those parts are replaced. To sum it up: I have nearly all of the replacement parts, with the exception of the front clam and some fasteners, to largely complete the restoration. The parts I have from the area needing restoration would include the sway bar, a plastic grill, and a replacement headlamp (I actually have a pair of headlamps, even though only the right headlamp needed replacing....).On Dec-14-15 at 13:49:33 PST, seller added the following information: Stats as of the start of the Auction's final 24 hours Page Views: 2,274 Watchers: 55 Auction Ends: TOMORROW, 12/15 at 1:00pm PST See condition photos here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskqVQGn7 Thank you for your bids and interest!
