Vehicle Detail
THE VEHICLE VIN ABP12B0BF130603 PLEASE INSPECT THE CAR PRIOR TO BIDDING....OR HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED. THIS CAR WAS FOUND IN STORAGE WHERE IT HAD BEEN FOR YEARS. (1) 1981 Mustang Ghia Coupe (Very Rare T Top Model) it is one of 1,021 T Top Coupes produced. It was purchased from the daughter of the original owner. It was purchased 'Special Order' from Apollo Ford in 1981..her father was a salesman there. One owner -- 75,000 mile car -- it's solid NO ROT (There is surface rust from sitting but nothing major)-- has a few dings, scratches, and dents -- it would make a great daily driver!! - Polar White - 6 cylinder (200 Inline 6 only offered in 1980 and 1981..very unusual) - Automatic Transmission with the Lock Trac Rearend..see BUCK TAG PIC - Power Windows (First year for power windows...few 1981s had them) - AC car...compressor still works....needs to be converted to the NEW FREON....it needs a charge - All four tires and spare are good (Includes all four original hubcaps) It's solid....runs and drives....I've replaced the weather stripping...replaced the radiator (it now has a bigger aluminum radiator), new water pump and thermostat (it sat a long time and I wanted it driveable), New Headliner installed, The interior is nice...but some stains on carpet and minor sun fade of seats...DASH IS IN GREAT CONDITION!!! I have the original AM/FM Cassette which was in the trunk (It's not installed and I do not know if it works). The Drivers side seat belt won't retract (But seat belt latches). The Heater Core is bypassed (The blower works), ORIGINAL FACTORY EXHAUST...ORIGINAL CARPET IN THE TRUNK THIS IS A NUMBERS MATCHING BODY, DRIVETRAIN, and ENGINE / TRANS. It has at some point been repainted POLAR WHITE long ago.....it has NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.....NO MAJOR BODY WORK EVER DONE....NO PANELS REPLACED.....GLASS IS ALL GOOD......THERE IS A DENT ON THE HOOD...SCRATCHES and DINGS...IT COULD USE WINDOW GUIDES ( I REPLACED THE WINDOW MOTORS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WORK and Wasn't aware the guides were bad. Console clock doesn't work....radio is included but out. (((((((THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES....SHIFTS....STOPS.....BUT SAT A VERY LONG TIME....I'D TRAILER IT HOME (Your call)...I plated and insured it and have driven it around. (THIS CAR IS A RARE SURVIVOR.....MOST HAVE BEEN TORN APART OR HOT RODDED.....BEST THING IS THAT'S COMPLETE...AND SOLID (Always a Florida Car) (LOOK AT THE BUCK TAG) FACTORY T-TOP CAR and THIS CAR HAS THE LOCK TRAC (POSI REAREND) Thanks, KevinOn Dec-05-15 at 18:41:36 PST, seller added the following information: MY RESERVE IS $3500 I'm selling this car because I'm into 70 and 71 Torino GTs.....I rescued it from the barn it sat in...and after hearing it's story. I felt the original owner (The previous owner's father...who has passed away) that loved this little car deserved to have someone rescue it while it was still in restorable shape. This car needs to go to someone that will restore it and do something with it...it's a solid car. I want to get back on my Torino project. I cannot believe that more people aren't interested in a numbers matching 81 T-Top Coupe...it's all there....and it runs and drives....it's not perfect (it's old and original) but I think it could be.
