The SL is a true icon in the automobile world, and this is a fine example. This car is being sold by the original owner. It was purchased new in Antwerp, Belgium. It was driven 500 miles in Europe and had its first service performed there. It was then shipped to Jacksonville, Florida, and was converted to be legal in the USA. The odometer was changed at that time to reflect miles rather than kilometers. All of the documentaion for the conversion is with the car, and it has a clear Florida title. This car has spent its life in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area and has always been garage kept. It has just 39, 406 original miles on it. The original paint still shines all around. The hard top is included with the car, and it is in excellent shape. The convertible top is also excellent. This is the original top, with the upholstered headliner intact. The well area for the top is also in very good condition. It's clean, and there's no rust. The interior is also all original, and also very nice. The seats have no rips or tears, and aren't showing any wear. The carpets and door panels are also in very good shape. This SL has the rarely seen rear seat. It folds down if you need some extra storage space. This Mercedes-Benz comes with a nice selection luxury and convenience features: Real wood trim, Power windows, central locks and power right side mirror; cold air conditioning; and more. The car has a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo. This was added later, and its the only equipment that isn't original to the car. The trunk is clean - just like the rest of the car. The 5.0 liter V8 runs well. It is AMAZING how well this 1986 Mercedes-Benz runs and drives. Many new cars are not this smooth and solid. The original owner's manual is with the car... ...and there is a stack of maintenance records as well. As noted earlier, this car was imported from Belgium and has been converted to be legal in the USA. Documents are included. This SL was originally titled in Florida in 2/86.
