I've decided to sell my Thruxton Ace Special Edition. I'll put her up this one last time - if she doesn't sell, she'll just go into my collection and in a few years I'll put her back on the block again - at a higher price. I had a few questions the first go around, one of which was that I was affecting the market by pricing it so low. I'm not the Federal Reserve, just an avid British bike rider & restorer, and I know it's worth more than the Buy it Now. Not in the sport to make money, just have fun, make my bikes perform the best they can, and pass them along to another avid rider. To answer another question, yes, the bike is pristine, and I do mean pristine (as anyone who's bought a bike from me can attest). Hate to do it, as it's one fantastic bike, but I have restoration projects that I need to get going on and they'll need funding. If you're looking at this, you know that therev were onlym approximately 325 units made for the US market, and that the Triumph Special Editions hold/go up in value over time. The Ace Special is one that will continue this trend. This bike is completely immaculate, and has never seen a drop of water in its life, and has been stored in a climate controlled garage under cover at all times. Lets face it - the newer EFI Triumphs leave much to be desired from the factory in terms of having a smooth powerband without any flat spots, lack a consistant idle, and tend to run on the lean side (hence the blue pipe syndrome) - all due to the emissions regulations. Right out of the box I've corrected these flaws doing the following modifications: AI System removal, O2 sensor removal, Airbox baffle removal (retains original airbox - P.S. there is no gain to removing the airbox, the baffle removal is just as effective while maintaining the original airbox). The snorkel air intake was replaced with a Triumph Twin Power Breathe intake along with a DNA high flow air filter. The stock silencers were replaced with British Customs Predators (which in addition to being a performance upgrade sound awesome!), And most importantly, the bike was mapped with a Triumph Twin Power map specifically designed for these modifications. The bike is now one of the smoothest performing Triumphs I've owned, with no hesitation, smooth idle, and no cutouts. The way this bike runs compared to the stock bike is absolutely amazing. Some other touches that have been added are the fork gators and the clutch lifter cover with boot. I also have a new white Triumph headlight cowl that is included with the bike along with a cover, manual two keys, etc. The title is free and clear and in my possession. The Buy it Now price is a couple of thousand less than you would pay new with these mods, and it wouldn't run anywhere near a well as this one does. A $500.00 non refundable deposit it required within 24 hrs of the auction ending (Paypal can be used for the deposit, but the balance will be cash, bank check, or wire funds), with the balance being paid within 7 days thereafter.
