Vehicle Detail
This is a simply wonderful street/HPDE car for a knowledgeable Porsche buyer who wants a Cayman as it should have been offered by Porsche, and isn't able to buy a GT4. Gobs of torque and horsepower with 350mm GT3 brakes to match. Great handling in an option loaded car. Delivery of my new Porsche GT4 necessitates my reluctant sale, but I'll miss this little monster. The boost is amazingly linear with constant "into the back of your seat" pull to redline. A simple ECU tweak by TPC Racing to raise the boost can add at least 100HP more, if the owner is so inclined. I wasn't. Motivated seller for a reasonable price. Buyer to arrange shipping at Buyer's cost, if not local delivery. Inspection by appointment. 2006 Cayman S 3.8L 997 X51 Turbo WP0AB29826U781379 Engine #M97/01S68641265 Present mileage: 33,xxx History Built: 11/25/2005 A pro race driver and DP team owner took delivery of the car 1/14/2006 and commissioned Orbit Racing (Porsche race shop in Riviera Beach, FL) to custom install a new Porsche “crate” 3.8L 997S X51power kit engine and TPC Racing (Jessup, MD) stage 2 intercooled turbocharger system. The car was serviced at Orbit Racing. In 2009, at 4,903 miles, the car was sold to a Prototype, GT, ALMS/Rolex/Tudor pro race driver who drove it in Florida as his personal car until late 2013 when it was sold to the present owner at 20,901 miles. All maintenance and servicing prior to transfer to the present owner was done by Orbit Racing. After it was purchased, it was shipped to TPC Racing for updating, tuning, reprogramming, and further modifications in 2013. The turbo boost was reduced from ~ 5.5 psi to a very conservative ~ 4 psi for use as a daily driven primarily street car with occasional DE use.
