Vehicle Detail

Please read entire description, if you have any questions or concerns please ask before you bid. This truck is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. All sales are final. Thank you First off the truck runs, it starts right up drives down the road Shifts through all three gears + reverse and stops when Stepping on the brake. Now Please read the following! Up for your consideration is the "Leper" as I call it, a 1949 5 window Chevy 3100 1/2 ton pick up! It has a 62 235 in it. I will give you an honest and accurate assessment of the truck. I purchased the truck from Texas a couple years ago as a project truck. I've done quite a bit to it since my purchase. Unfortunately I'm not able to complete my transformation. Things I've done to the truck so far, replaced both side windows along with new felt trim kits. Replaced front windshield and rubber. New back glass and rubber seal. The two curved windows are original with replaced rubber seals. I put in a new headliner, door panels and glove box. I painted the dash flat black and had all the interior trim dipped in a burl wood finish. Replaced the interior wind lace that goes around the interior of the cab. Replaced the the fuel tank and sending unit. Put some sound deader behind the seat area. Had the original seat recovered haven't added seat belts yet. Painted the seat frame. Cleaned up the wiring a bit, the truck is converted to 12 volt, hooked up turn signals, 4 way flashers. New rear lights and brackets, converted the front running lights to running and turn signals. Put new rear brake pads on, rebuilt the front wheel cylinders bled brakes they work. Interior light works by the switch. There is no power to the truck unless you turn the key on. The foot starter will crank but will not fire without key on. Had the starter motor rebuilt. Also added the inline alternator cut off so the engine will turn off with the key. Replaced the wood bed in the truck, I used pine I routed myself, stained and sealed the wood with Australia timber oil. I replace and painted the steel trim black and used cad carriage bolts. The two side trim pieces are original as seen in the photos. Looks pretty nice. What I've done to the engine I put a flame thrower coil a pertronix ignition new plugs and wires. Starts right up runs fine. I purchased the relocation water pump adapter so I can run the early water pump on the 62 235 that is in the truck. It relocates the fan back to the center of the radiator. New bottom radiator hose. I took apart the heater core tested the core and replaced the motor works fine repainted it installed it just haven't hooked up the switch yet. There are no defroster hoses hooked up yet. I replaced the right side wiper linkage, new period correct blades the wipers turn on but no really worthy of driving in the rain typical old ass truck. Replaced the exhaust donut. Rebuilt the carb, I would say the carb is probably 98% but runs great down the road. As you can see I've done quite a bit so far. So the truck has a lot of potential. Ok now a list of the cons dash lights work, gauges only the oil pressure gauge works, I hooked up the fuel tank sender unit but haven't gotten back under the dash to try and figure out why it's not working. The speedo needle is broke. Haven't hooked up a horn yet. I do have the original. I do have a rear bumper and original rear brackets I will put back on the truck. The bumper is bent a little and the chrome is peeling. I found a crack in the outer block of the engine, no coolant in the oil just some sweating on the outer block area. Engine still runs. So this is the perfect truck to either drop a SB or replace with another 235. The tranny works fine shifts perfectly with no issues. I tried to be as honest as I can about the truck. And by the way the truck is a very solid truck with a small amount of rust on the passenger side floor. Cab corners sold. It needs new tires and rims if desired I was going to put some black smoothies on it. I have a NC vin# title. If you have any questions or concerns ask before bidding. Thank you for taking the time to view my auction. The 1949 Harley Hummer is NOT included in this auction. The picture is posted to show the rear bumper. However the 49 Harley can be purchased separate from this listing. My idea was to have a 49 Harley Hummer sitting in my 49 Chevy truck for the car shows and local cruise in's.
