Vehicle Detail

1965 Rambler 440 Convertible. This car is a Barn Find. It is all original. The only things done to the car were to make it safe, and get it running good. Still has the Original Interior and drive train. 67,000 Original Miles. Automatic 6 cylinder, 3 speed. It has had a respray on the exterior in the original color, but there is plenty of original paint to be seen in the trunk, under hood....etc. Very little rust. Doors and rocker panels are solid. Under the car is very solid. All new brakes from Master cylinder to wheels (hard steel and rubber lines). Four new tires mounted and balanced. Full tune up including cap, rotor, plugs, wires, Oil change and filter. Fuel lines cleaned. Tank is original and clean. Fuel gauge, horn, headlights...etc all working. Transmission shifts smooth and quiet. Engine quiet and running smooth. Upholstery is all original. Great little car that can be enjoyed as is. If you can't afford a Chevy Nova II, but want a 1960s classic convertible, this might be the car for you. No rust at all at inner fenders, or subframe. Clean New York open transferable Registration. (no title in NY for antiques) . Its a great car, but it did sit for many years in a barn. It does need a top. That is all I would do to it. But if you want it perfect, it could use a few patches in the seat panels. I would not replace the seat covers because they are stock, but a few places have holes, and cracks from being old. An upholstery shop could replace just the bad panels and keep the rest original. There is some rust behind the rear tires in the lower quarters. I've seen patch panels for under $100. Top is $350 if you do it yourself. But again, you can enjoy it as is with the top down. Dash has some surface rust. I'm not a Rambler expert. Or old car expert. But ask any questions. If you are local, come see it while the weather is nice. I'm willing to ship, or meet in person. Thanks On Oct-27-15 at 14:41:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a few pictures of the rust around the rear wheel wells. I also pushed the top up for the picture. Feel free to ask for any other photos. On Oct-27-15 at 16:53:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some higher resolution photos as well that you can zoom and blow up. I tried to change more of them, but the Ebay rules don't let me change what was existing because I have bids on the car. I lowered the reserve, and it is now met. So the high bidder will be getting a great car, and a very nice price for a drivable classic convertible. A knowledgeable Rambler guy emailed me some info that this is an early 65, and that the convertibles were low production numbers, and this is a rare color combination.
