Take a look at this real SS396 El Camino!!! Brings back memories of our old high school days! This one had a body off restoration! The engine is a 1967 325 horse 396, it has Hooker ceramic coated headers, vintage M/T valve covers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Edelbrock carburetor. The pulleys were upgraded to the March serpentine belt set up, with polished A/C compressor and power steering pump. The car runs and drives great, the exhaust sounds awesome. The turbo 400 transmission shifts firm through the gears. The 12 bolt posi rear end has 3:08 gears. The body is all metal and the floors and frame are perfect. The underside was painted gloss black while the body was off the frame. The silver paint shines like it was just done but does have some minor chips. The front suspension is all rebuilt, with new bushings and new tie rods inners and outers, idler arm and shocks. The rear suspension has also had the bushings, shocks and springs replaced. The front disc brakes and rear drum brakes are all new. All brakes lines and fuel lines are new also. The vintage Crager wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich tires, 295/50 15 in the rear and 245/60 15 in the front. The interior upholstery is all new and looks great. The restoration was done approximately 10 years ago, including the paint. I have receipts for most of the work done and an album full of pictures documenting the restoration. It has been in storage and has only had about 100 miles put on during the span. I am not looking for high dollars, some final touches are still needed. Overall this is a great car and a TRUE SS 396!
