Vehicle Detail

1976 Carrera 3.0 VIN# 9116600739, engine 930/02 # 6661357. Non-sunroof coupe.Up for auction is a very rare and desireable piece of Porsche history. These special cars made only in '76 and '77 were produced only for European delivery and were never sold in the US. These cars are rapidly appreciating in value, now exceeding US 74-75 Carreras. This is a rust free project car needing paint ( original color is Sienna/ Burgundy ) and interior.Engine and transmission were fully rebuilt approx 30K miles ago with receipts totaling over $11K. I am currently running the engine and trans in my 74 For the last 4 years so it is routinely run and maintained. The Good;- Rust free very solid chassis.-Correct 930/02 engine ser. # 6661357 fully rebuilt with all paperwork.-Very rare only 600 coupes produced in 1976. - Sienna / Burgundy original color, beautiful. - Clear Title in my name. The Bad;- Repainted yellow years ago, terrible job, needs to be stripped and painted.- Small accident damage to front pan, looks like it hit a curb. Will need metal repair.- Interior is not original and will need to be redone. I do have a very rare 76 dash core that will go with car.- Missing windshield. All other glass is present. Other;- Wheels and tires in pictures do not come with the car unless negotiated after auction, a set of roller wheels will be installed for transport.- engine will come with CIS injection system, not the carbs that are shown.- Please contact me if you have questions.- Engine and transmission are not currently in car but can be bolted in for transport. Additional info on engine rebuild! I had a great conversation with Fred Apgar of Apgar Inc. who did the rebuild. He said he built this engine with extra performance in mind which included high compression pistons and a custom set of cams by Bob Walter at Logicam, these were designed to run with the large port CIS fuel injection. After break in they put the car on a dyno and the results were 240 HP,, awesome engine. *** Last picture is what car would look like done.
