If your looking for your first collector car but don't have a lot of cash this great entry level car. If you don't know about antique/.collectors car insurance this is another avenue to get you into the collector hobby if you don't have a lot of funds. As long as you have a daily driver ( another car) and you just use this car for a hobby it cost around $100 to have it insure for a year at a AGREED VALUE of $5000.00 . Agreed values means if you have any kind lost,damage or theft /done by another party or your self)the insurance company agrees in to pay you $5000 at the point of loss. Lets say some one else smashes into the car and there insurance only wants to total the car and give you $1000 for it.Your collector insurance would pay you up $5000 in repairs or give you $5000 if it more to fix then $5000 Here's a super clean amazing original paint 1988 El dorado 4.5 v 8 the best engine built by Cadillac in the 80's, PER J D POWERS. This baby Eldo runs ,performs and drives excellent. With the small Trans mounted v/8 this is quick and agile fun to drive easy to park. New parts include battery,4 new tires,front struts,full service oil change,,Trans serviced,the car leaks nothing,rear view mirror,new engine mounts(expensive) and torc mount. repaired the oil ..serviced a/c converted to R 134 AND REPLACE THE A/C Accumulator will it freeze you out in this 90 degree weather. And 8 new a/c del co copper top plugs count um 8 all the 8 plugs where replaced.Thie car runs way better with the a/c delco copper top. the engine now has a yawn to it when you open it. Someone had put champion plugs it. I will only install ac/del co plugs in Gm cars. This car leaks nothing. Flushed the coolant and replaced the coolant and the coolant pellets. The eldo is 98% percent original paint and it holds a excellent shine..In this case original paint DOES NOT MEAN IT NEEDS PAINT. This baby Eldo glides down the freeway you can be running 85 mph and not even realize it., No rattles zero. All electrical and lighting works excellent with the exception of the side opera lights, cruise does not work it will turn on but loses spend. There were 33,210 of this cars built. There can' t be very many of these still on the road in this condition wearing this nice of original paint.The car comes with the oringinal 1988 cadillac warranty booklet,owners manual,new deliver document ,wire wheel cover key and set of oringinal Gold trunk n ignition keys .The 4.5 litre 272cc v/8 enigne was rated best eninge at 10 years old by J.D. powers. All the repairs I had done by a professional mechanic after his day job at my home. These repairs if they had been done by shop would been over $6000 Zero rust and padded top is excellent, No cracks in the dash.. the blue door panels where cracked on the arm rest both side. The original blue had a button that would stab rigtht in the back...when i first swapped seat backs i went i went with a matching style in tan. It will come with the carthe next day i found the none birrtiz front seat back in blue and i thought it looked better. then the tan. .my upholstery guy waned $500 to just recover the driver front seat top .....i paid 8 dollars from the junk yard for the leather seat. top.............there are 5 pick-a-part yards with-in 10 miles of me...these car vashing before me eyes 4 to 5 years ago you find lots of the 88 to 91 eldos in the yards before they where crushed...... i know my 80's cadillacs they a few good ones out there.. the 88 4.5 v/8 was the best built by J. D. powers.....My father a U.A.W. worker always stated you don't want a car built in the stated on friday because everybody was in hurry to get off work never wanted car built on monday because every one was hung over this car must of been built on weds
