Vehicle Detail
1992 Volkswagen Cabriolet 1.8L 5 Speed Manual Transmission. Comes with the "snowflake" wheels seen in the pictures as well as a set of four "teardrop" wheels. The teardrop wheel have been stripped of their clear coat and would need to be polished in order for them to look good. Also comes with original style of radio. I bought this car last fall to fix up and enjoy. I did a lot of work to it and never drove it. Too many projects and not enough space. Please ask any questions in case I have not listed any details. Pros: The body is very solid. Runs great. Recent service:Timing belt, front engine seals, water pump, water pump housing, thermostat, thermostat housing, radiator fan thermoswitch, new LH CV shaft, new washer pump, hose, and wiper blades, new battery and alternator, new alt, a/c, and power steering belts, new front and rear struts and strut mounts, new rear brake cables, shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware. Spare tire and tools are in the trunk as they should be. Top boot in excellent condition. Exhaust is in very good condition. Doors open and close nice. Seats fold forward. This is a very nice looking car. It would make a great driver or easy restoration to make it perfect. Cons: The paint is "rough" when you get up close. There are chips that have been touched up and the clear coat has peeled off near the top of the doors. I have sprayed clear coat on the bad spots so they won't continue to peel. It makes it a good "20 footer". The tires have about 50% tread but are old and should be replaced. The top needs replaced. I do not believe the air bag is functional. The top boot may be from another year car because it does not fit quite right around the seat belts in the rear. There are some cigarette burns in the seats. Although I do not smoke and it does not smell like smoke, I'm sure that's what the holes are. Please ask any questions. I am probably forgetting many details.
