Vehicle Detail

For a 65 year old vehicle, this antique car looks very good and runs well. It has the original hubcaps, which are difficult to find, and has a good convertible top and side curtains. It has been re-upholstered and painted. A lot of the work was done by my father-in-law, a former automotive and airplane mechanic, as his retirement project. He bought the Jeepster in Pennsylvania and towed it on a trailer to Florida where he restored it. Since his death in 2002, my wife has had it totally re-wired ( six volt system) and has kept it in excellent mechanical condition, driving it enough to keep it well-maintained. It has been in parades and has driven brides and grooms to their after- wedding destinations. It has been kept continually in a garage, carport ,or under cover. After-market turn signals, front lap seatbelts and side mirrors have been added for safety. It needs to go to the home of a person who appreciates its history and the fragility of an antique car, yet understands that it was not designed as an off-road vehicle. It was marketed to returning GI's from WW II, as a jeep/styled family car. Only about 19,000 were produced from 1948-50, and only around 325 or so remain today.
