Vehicle Detail

2005 Subaru Outback XT 5-speed Manual I purchased this car approximately four years ago because I wanted a daily driver that offered practicality, reliability, and a more engaged and rewarding driving experience than the average wagon. This car has delivered all that, along with the security that comes with nearly 9 inches of ground clearance. It was my intention to drive this car indefinitely (I've had the same motorcycle for over 20 years), but the addition of two new family members has forced a re-evaluation of our mobile seating capacity. That being the case, I have taken care of the car in such a way that it would continue to provide reliable service for as long as I owned it. All four wheel bearings have been replaced, starting with the rears at around 70,000 miles, then the front set approximately 20,000 miles later. The timing and accessory belts were both replaced at 100,000 miles. The clutch and CV boots were replaced at 95,000 miles. New struts, (front and rear), and suspension bushings were installed in October of 2014 (greatly improved handling, and much quieter ride). The Hankook Ventus Prime tires were just put on in June, and though they are not the most expensive rubber I have ever purchased, they have proven to be more quiet and predictable than the Pirellis they replaced. Front pads and rotors were replaced in June as well, with the rears still looking good from their replacement at approximately 120,000 miles. During a recent oil change, my mechanic noticed a very small radiator leak, so a new a new one was installed last week, before any overheating problems could be an issue. Oil and filter have been changed every 5000 miles using Mobil 1 full synthetic. The A/C and dual-zone climate control are 100%, as is the stereo and 6 disc changer. In short, this car drives better than when I purchased it with 60,000 miles on it. The additional power and torque provided by the turbo is still appreciated, when it's needed. The engine has never required more than a few ounces of oil between changes, and doesn't smoke. I have heard about other XT owners getting away with using 87 octane, but this car has only been filled up with 93 Octane Premium. An extended "bumper to bumper" warranty can still be purchased for this car, and runs about $30/mo. The car came with a clean Carfax when I purchased it, and has experienced nothing more than a paint rub on the left rear bumper while I've had it. In addition to the standard features that come with the XT trim level, the car has a large, factory-supplied roof rack, and an aftermarket Sirius XM radio receiver that was professionally installed. I have a clean title in hand, and I welcome any questions that anyone might have about this vehicle. I can also provide additional photos if anyone wants to see a specific part of the vehicle. On Sep-08-15 at 17:11:53 PDT, seller added the following information: *Please Note: this vehicle is for sale locally. If it sells prior to Monday, I will have to end the auction. Good luck!
