1941 Chevrolet Coupe Special Deluxe Street RodTons of Pictures Below the Description; Scroll Down! Up for Auction is our awesome 1941 Chevrolet Coupe Special Deluxe Street Rod, owned by and beautifully restored by a lifetime automotive/aircraft mechanic. This all steel car has been in the dry climate of Idaho for at least the last fifty years of its life and has no rust. No previous damage. Lovingly restored over an eight-year period, completed in 2006, at which time it made its debut at classic car shows, and has every year since then. Over $10,000 invested in parts and materials, and thousands of hours of labor. Stock appearance has been maintained in the construction of this street rod category car while combining drive train and suspension enhancements for better handling and performance. These modifications include: Engine: GM 250 cubic inch inline six cylinder, high compression pistons, 260 degree dual pattern cam, spring and lifter kit, stock HEI ignition, Offenhauser 4 bbl intake manifold with Edelbrock 500CFM 4 bbl carburetor. Runs perfectly; no leaks, no oil consumption. Gets about 15 mpg. Built for economical cruising; not a tire burner.Exhaust: Stovebolt dual cast iron headers with custom 2 ¼” dual pipes and glasspack mufflers. Exhaust has a nice throaty rumble. Drive train: Recently overhauled TH200R4 automatic transmission with TPI lockup kit. B&M floor shift. Custom driveline, '69 Ford Fairlane 8” rear axle, 3.0 gear ratio. Suspension: Mustang II front suspension with Innovative Rod Products cross member and sway bar. Stock rear leaf springs with new spring plates and u-bolts. Stock Mustang II brake calipers, Wilwood residual valves (10 psi rear, 2 psi front), 9” brake rotors with 5 on 4 ½” bolt pattern. Drum rear brakes. Stock shock absorbers. Master Cylinder: Stock 1978 Mustang II dual chamber manual with Mustang factory proportioning valve. Steering: Borgeson splined shafts and u-joints with custom Grant Classic steering wheel. GM straight steering column. Mustang II manual rack and pinion steering gear with new tie-rod ends. Electrical and Gauges: EZ wiring kit, 21 circuit. Dolphin five instrument mechanical gauges. Tach. Transmission temp gauge. Sony AM/FM stereo w/CD player. Original clock; not working. The odometer reads 4859, but that doesn't reflect actual miles. It has about 10,000 miles since restoration. Radiator: Modine 3 row Mustang vertical flow. Wheels: Early Wheel Company steel smoothies with baby moons and beauty rings. Paint: Off White Sherwin Williams base coat/clear coat by local paint shop in 2006. Paint in excellent condition; beautiful shine. Has been stored inside since it was painted and only used occasionally to go to car shows. Interior: Custom interior done in 2002 by local upholstery shop including headliner and carpet. Front and rear seats replaced with fabric seats; gray with colored flecks. Excellent condition; no rips, stains; no smokers or pets. New rear lap belts and new retractable front lap belts. Center console with drink holders. Other: New door seals and other rubber body parts from Chev’s of the 40’s. New taillight assemblies; rear third brake light added. Front bumper has been rechromed.
