Vehicle Detail
Due to divorce, selling my 1975 volkswagen super beetle. Was daily driving it for a little while, took it back and fourth to virginia once, 4 hours one way made the whole trip no problem. It's currently inspected. It used to be fuel injected, but it currently has a 1974 engine with carburetor setup. All of the lights work, the wipers work, the fuel gauge and speedometer work, the interior light works, ti can be driven as is. Whats been done to it New EMPI 34 carburetor New EMPI J tube headers (no heat) New EMPI GT Exhaust system New fuel pump New voltage regulator (I wired in a ford truck style voltage regulator as opposed to the $150 bosch regulator, so if this one ever goes bad you can go to any parts store and get a $20 ford regulator) Tires have less than 1500 miles on them New speedometer cable New spark plugs New spark plug wires New coil New Distributor rotor and cap New points Changed the oil a couple hundred miles ago New Battery Issues it has currently. The reverse lights stopped working. Its has no heat due to the j tube headers, I have the original heater boxes you can put back on but they need to be patched or fixed or just replaced. They are cheap enough to buy new ones. The radio/cassette deck does work but only one channel on it works. The rear seat belt receivers came apart, the guts fell out, the part where you click the buckle into. In virginia at a stop sign I was tapped by a mini van at less than 5 mph, it dented the engine lid in a little bit so it needs to be replaced. I have the rear bumper, its fine it just needs one of the shock absorbers replaced. It drips transmission oil (it is over 40 years old), I think the brakes are squeaking as when you drive it it makes a little squeaking noise from the rear. It is missing some interior trim pieces and the previous owner started putting sound deadening mat in place of the head liner and the rear storage area so those will need to be recovered. I have no time or money to keep working on it, so it must go. I am selling it cheap because I need to get it off of my insurance. I put a lot of time into the car already, and it pains me to let it go. I am keeping the price low on it to prevent the haggling and ridiculous low offers and because I need the money quickly, as these cars hold their value and this one is inspected and driving and I have the clean title for it in my name. I set the car up to be reliable and be daily driven if I wanted to. Keep in mind, its 40 years old, its going to have some quirks and its carbureted. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Strictly an as is sale. Title must be transferred and your own plate before the car leaves my driveway. Payment and pickup is due within 7 days. Bidders with little or no feedback please contact me first, or I may cancel your bids. Local inspections are welcomed and encouraged. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
