Vehicle Detail
This is a 1929 Model A Henry Ford steel body coupe (see body plate ID photo). I bought it in 2007. I replaced the 327 with a GM ZZ4 crate motor. It has a 4 bbl Edelbrock Performer series carburetor. I replaced the Model A chassis with an aftermarket Model A chassis from Thunder Road Inc. in 2008… (dropped 4" dropped axle, panhard bar, and 4-link). It was rewired. I have put about 2,000 miles on it since then. I replaced the odometer last summer and it now reads 400 miles. It has new Weld racing wheels. It looks exactly like the yellow coupe in the American Graffiti movie. When you pull into a cruise-in... people stop and point. It is old-school, i.e. no cup holders, boom box sound, or air conditioning (although you can lean the bottom of the windshield out for some)! I have an autographed picture from Paul "Milner" LeMat. It goes with the car. It is quick. The yellow paint is awesome. It goes down the road straight, but rides & squeaks like a straight axle hot rod. The 86 year-old steel is in good shape, but there is a little hairline bondo crack above the door (see picture). I have much more invested in this rod than I will get out of it, but somebody will appreciate that, hope it's you! • 355 cu in / 370 hp GM ZZ4 crate motor with aluminum heads, and roller rockers• 4-speed Saginaw• after market Model A chassis• 4-link suspension with adjustable coil overs• Weld Racing rims• Ididit steering column• power assist trunk• Summit Racing fuel cell mounted in the trunk • cloth bucket seats (Corvette)
