Vehicle Detail
Beautifully restored 1968 Triumph Daytona to very original specification. Matching frame and engine numbers. First I want to state that there are a two very small blemishes in the paint on the front fender and one small blemish on the rear fender. All about 1/16". These are not readily evident but I know they are there. Also, on the underside of the rear fender (just below the tail light) the paint is thin and rough in a small area. Not readily evident until you get down to eye level to look underneath. Complete engine rebuild including new bearings, pistons, rings, fresh bores, valves, valve springs and valve guides. All new bearings in wheels. New chains (both primary and drive chain. Fasteners cadmium (not zinc) plated. Carbs rebuilt. All new fork tubes, fork bushings, fork seal holders and seals, fork gaiters and chrome plated hardware for triple clamps. New exhaust pipes and mufflers from England. New tubes, tires, Buchanan stainless spokes and "Made in England" rims. New paint, new seat foam and seat cover. Frame and many of the parts are powder coated black plus clear coat. New sealed battery (a bit smaller than the original battery) and all wiring redone using original Lucas wiring harness. It was in very nice shape. Still retains the stock SIba ignition coils. Has the original FS911 Wilmot Breeden ignition key (the key is dull nickel and is not shiny anymore) and the original Wilmot Breeden EJR31 steering lock and key. Original Lucas ammeter. This is a beautiful restoration and must be one of the nicest. Speedometer and tachometer cases cleaned, painted and new bezels. I have the Smiths decals for the speedo and speedo drive but these are in an envelope, not on the bike. This has not been started since the restoration. The headpipes always change color a tiny bit so I didn't want to start it as I had it for show. Add oil, fuel, adjust the carburetors and it is ready to go. I can do this after sale is completed, if desired by buyer, at no extra charge. From the condition of the bike when I purchased it I believe the mileage to be original. This bike has an out of state clear title. I have restored many British and Italian bikes over the years. My claim to fame, as a mechanic, is that I completely rebuilt every part on five 1966 BSA round barrel Victors that my two friends, my two sons and I rode from Mexico to Canada along the Continental Divide Trails. 14 days, 2,530 miles of punishing but wonderful ride and no problems whatsoever except one broken kickstart spring (after my oldest son submerged it when crossing a river). Payment due in full within 7 days of close of auction. Buyer pays for shipping. This bike is at my home in Huntington Beach, CA 92647. I may be able to help with shipping/crating but it depends on my work schedule. Please contact me if you need help with shipping.
