The current owners purchased this car (and another 57 Bel-Air 2-door Hardtop) in the mid 70’s shortly after it was very nicely restored. In their 40+ years of ownership, they used the car as their “Local Parade Car” and they occasionally drove it around town. The car has always been serviced yearly since they purchased it by a good family friend/auto repair center who always kept it mechanically sound (In fact, the car still has a service tag in the driver’s door jamb dated 7-22-92 when it had 42,418 miles). Within the last 10 years, the car has had its complete wiring harness replaced with a new factory correct harness, convertible top and power mechanism replaced and restored; the complete brake system has been gone through, etc. Thanks to being caringly maintained and looked after, this 1957 Bel-Air runs and drives beautifully, and everything on this car is in excellent working order down to the glove box light! With the 283CI 4-Barrel Engine, Power Glide Automatic Transmission, Factory Power Steering and Power Brakes makes this car a pleasure to drive. This 57’ has an extremely solid body with all of its original sheet metal including its rust free floor pans, trunk pan, body mounts, inner wheel wells, rocker panels, etc. Having been painted with lacquer in the mid 70’s, the paint and body are “not” perfect. It has some chips, nicks, dings and checking that you can see when looking closely at the car, but from 5-10 feet away it looks great. The chrome trim, bright work, and glass throughout the exterior are in good condition for their age as well. As stated above, everything inside is in working order including all the interior lights, gauges, turn signal indicators, horn, radio, speakers, etc.The 283CI 4-Barrel engine starts runs and sounds great! The Power Glide transmission is in great working order as well. Going down the road, the car drives straight without any unusual noises, vibrations or rattles.
