For sale is a rare 1970 2wd Chevrolet Blazer. Only 985 made in 1970 which is the first year the 2wd was offered. Among other things it was ordered with a 6cyl engine and auto trans, heavy duty springs, power drum brakes and a rare dealer installed white vinyl top, no hard top. This truck was left in a field for years due to the gas fill elbow having a hole and the PO couldn't put gas in it. I purchased the truck and shoveled out the leaves and removed the seats and carpet. I drained the tank, repaired the elbow, installed a new fuel pump, points and battery. Amazingly after 8 years the truck started and runs like a champ. The fan motor still works and all the lights except the right rear. The brakes were toast so I put on new rubber lines and some hard ones. Then I replaced the wheel cylinders, drums and shoes up front just so it would stop. I have driven it several miles and it shifts great also. Now for the bad part..... It has extensive rust. The rocker boxes are long gone as well as the rockers. Windshield rail is rough. Rear bed was covered with diamond plate years ago and wheel wells are rusted. Doors are hard to close due to body sag. I took several pictures to show the extent of the condition. The frame is solid. The left rear shock is off because the bracket was broken but I do have a new one from LMC truck. All of the snaps for the top are on the body and I have the frame rails. The 2 front seats are from a 73 Blazer and are shot. The rear is the original but it is pretty bad also. Even though it is rough there are only so many 70 2wd Blazers left in the world and I could not bear to see it crushed. The truck is located in Camden Oh and will have to be trailered away.
