Vehicle Detail
Very nice GS1100E. Just under 14k miles. Always garaged and well maintained. Excellent condition overall. Not many around this nice. The bike has high quality period-correct modifications - Vance & Hines megaphone exhaust, K&N pod filters and properly jetted with Dynojet Stage III kit. Also has new Avon rear tire installed this spring...only has a couple hundred miles on it. Front tire was installed last season and is in very good shape. New gel battery installed this spring. Stainless braided brake lines front and rear. New RK chain and sprockets just installed in April 2015. Bike includes stock seat and a very nice Corbin seat, as well. There are a few minor paint chips and scratches, but overall the paint looks good and not faded... bike looks great, runs perfectly and is FAST....carbs rebuilt and balanced last season...new carb intake boots were installed. New valve cover gasket was installed last year due to some minor oil weeping...no leaks now. Overall this is an awesome classic GS. A turn-key machine that's ready to ride and enjoy. Updates based on questions I've received: When I purchased this bike, I upgraded the regulator / rectifier to an Electrosport unit. This eliminates the potenntial charging system issue common to these models. You can read about it on the GS resources website, in the article called "the stator papers" I also added photos of 1) the inside of the fuel tank, which is rust free.2) a scratch in the paint on the right side up the fuel tank. It's not down to the metal so not a rust risk...but yeah...although very nice, the bike does have a couple blemishes...this is the worst of it.3) the left side cover has a stainless steel screw added where the front lower tab used to be...unfortunately the side cover tabs for these bikes were manufactured extremely thin and weak, and it's nearly impossible to find them intact...believe me I've tried.
