Vehicle Detail
Listed for your consideration is this 1977 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. I have taken this project as far as I can and now its time for someone to take her to the next level! This is a great FJ to start a restoration project or just get her up and running as a sweet ride! Clear title. Happy bidding! I purchased it in 2008 here in Washington state for $5700.00It was running strong at the time of purchase with its original engine. It was having some backfiring issues that I thought I could remedy with a Weber carburetor. I never got the Weber installed correctly and although it ran it still was plagued with backfiring. The last go round it was at a mechanics for three months and I will break out the things I have done to it - at this time IT DOES NOT START OR RUN. I am very confident with a proper mechanic or some land cruiser knowledge she will be running strong again. Just to be clear...at this time IT DOES NOT START OR RUN. The last time I had it running was approx. 2 years ago. It has been parked since. Clean and grease all caliper and pad contact points. machine front rotors and install fluid and cotter pins. Flush brake line. Replaced Master cylinder. Service front axle assembly, included reseal, clean and adjust bearings, ball joints, scrapers and wipers. Replaced radiator with upper and lower hoses. Repaired hand brake to work. Replace final drive seal at transfer case. - Completed by Burien Japanese Auto Service July 2008$1000 Replaced clutch and complete Weber carburetor changeover. October 2008 I believe it is the Weber conversion Kit K743 / K743-38 by Redline - I have the install instructions.$142 Pedal & Cable assembly from Spector Off-Road June 2009 Although I am a land cruiser enthusiast I am not mechanically inclined but will gladly do my best to answer any and all questions. IN MY OPINION WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE:Resolve the carburetor issue to get it running and stop backfiringThe clutch assembly needs attention. I do not feel this was completely resolved. Its been sitting for 2 1/2 years. - Hoses need to be checked. Tires need to be checked. Most likely it needs to be trailered from where she sits now. OVERALL CONDITION:I think it is in very good condition. It indeed has surface rust but very minimal actual cancer. I found a small spot on the driver's door that looks a little more involved than surface. I ripped out the headliner as it was in bad shape so it needs a good scouring and sanding.A mouse decided to get busy with some of the foam in one of the back fold down seats. All doors and windows are functional. When it runs..it runs strong.Great tires.Collectors license plates.Yes, it is a bright orange exterior. Not a great paint job..looks like it was quickly sprayed - it had previously been used as a hunting vehicle from the guy I bought it from.I believe I have a few extras i.e. locking between the seats compartment...small things like that ..I will include all the goodies that I can find.Straight body. No major dents at all.Odometer reads 40, 952 I can not validate that these are the only miles. I purchased it with 39,583 in 2008 This vehicle is available for local pick-up.
