This is a rare color, Black, R1150RT with like-new locking side cases, locking top case (side cases and top case use the same key!) and back-rest for both the rider and the passenger. Although I live in California, the winter mornings can be cold and I have always wanted a motorcycle that totally protects you from the chilly air and yet lets you enjoy the open air when the temperature rises during the day. I see the California Highway Patrol rides these motorcycles endless miles on the freeway. It was only when I approached a motorcycle patrolman at a traffic stop that I was able to get his views on his BMW R1150. The police version is different from the civilian version in terms of side crash bars and 24 volt radio needs, but basically the same. The electric adjustable windshield lets you increase the wind protection/coverage over you and the bike. The driving lights offer increased range and scope on the roads, whether local roads or the freeways. The lovely black tank is protected from belt buckles and keys with the carbon-fibre shield over the tank, see the photo. For ease of looking at maps, I have the tank bag to allow you to have ready access to wallet, toll bridge money, keys, etc without getting off the bike to get into the cases. The bike also has the “throttle lock system” to allow you to rest your hands from the handlebars on those long rides. For rides up into the West Coast with limited airwaves, the R1150RT has a working radio and a tape player, (tape player is currently not working), with clear stereo speakers. The mirrors are amazingly clear and will spot cars and trucks behind you without vibration or resetting the mirrors…I love these mirrors because I am 6’2” and weigh 220 lbs with wide shoulders that always caused the mirror to show me only part of the traffic behind me and the usual vibrations…these mirrors are a great safety feature! Aside from the above safety built into the bike are night-time reflective tape on all of the cases which you only see when hit by a light behind you, very cool! The brakes are ABS and the fluid changed yearly. The tires are new and all maintenance has been done the dealer. The rider position is perfect for long touring and even on these days, you don’t feel fatigued. If you buy the bike, you can ride it home (as you should). The bike has never been down or crashed. There is a rash mark on the mirror fairing, just from brushing it up against my garage door when putting it in. Always garaged and never ridden in the rain. The title clean, signed and in the original owner’s name. This baby is in perfect shape; can and should be driven anywhere. A deposit of $1,000 is due within 48 hours of purchase via PayPal is okay.
