Carfax and Auto Check both show 2 owners - the original title from 1987 shows the Lincoln Mercury dealership as owner #1, and the first owner of the car counts as #2 in the eyes of the record check for some reason. This car was amoung a collection of cars in a climate controlled, humidity controlled building that was built specifically with the intent of storing cars. The vehicles, including this XR did not even have dust on them. The still image of the car shown in the screen before the video starts to play is the car just as it was unloaded off of the truck - untouched at this point. The rest of the pictures and video are after a quick 45 minute "touch-up" light cleaning as there was really very little to do as the car had been very well preserved and taken care of. I was really surprised to see the mileage at 92k as this car looks like a car with 50k on it. Having been in a climate controlled building indoors over the last decade has really preserved the rubber seals everywhere on the car as all of the seals are in excellent condition. Same goes for the interior, the leather seats are near perfect and the dashboard is probably the nicest light grey dashboard you will ever see in any XR. The interior plastics have also been in a time capsule like state without being exposed to the sun and hot / cold cycles. Small details like the dome light in mint condition really set this interior apart from 95% of the XRs out there. Rare 0Q paint code for blue / grey metallic available on in 1987. Body and paint in above average condition as can be seen. Paint fading on bi-wing spoiler. Hood has small stone chips, but the paint color makes these really hard to see. Pictures and video they barely show up. Ding on drivers door as well as rear quarter on drivers side. Small rust bubbling on drivers door in the center right above the cladding. Passenger side small rust bubbling where the wheel arch meets the lower cladding. Rockers are in good condition as can be seen in the picture. GOODYEAR Wing Foot tires look brand new, even though they were installed many years ago.Engine starts right up and runs excellent as you can see in the video. Rock solid, smooth idle. Fluids changed / filled. Brakes are excellent, transmission is good. Clutch cable feels a little stretched. If you like things perfect a new clutch cable and quadrant should tighten things up.AC blows hot and will need serviced. All interior electronics work including the tach and fuel gauge as shown. Turn signal works fine, there is an 1980's era cruise control system install that's piggbacked on the turn stalk with tape. I was going to remove it to clean things up, but it seems to work so I decided to leave it on.Original owners manual and all of the original keys are included. Central locking works perfectly, hatch lock works perfectly as well.Hidden from the world for over a decade, this well preserved example is ready to be back out on the streets again. Stock, unmolested 5spd XRs in this condition are getting extremely hard to find.
