This car has had the same owner for 40 years. Garaged for the last 40 years, NOS parts were collected for over 20 years to use in the restoration. A true authentic Shelby GT-500 with Marti Report. This is car #508 off production line, built in January of 1967, an early production model. It has the rare factory center beam lights (often copied) an original metal framed hood with vents, very rare. Car was signed by Carroll Shelby, the signature is tastefully displayed on plaque on the center gauge cluster. Car has all factory original sheet metal, no rust, sold originally from Hayward Ford. The color combination of nightmist blue with Parchment Interior is rare and one of 47 ever built. It has been said that Carroll Shelby favored this color combination, and presented a car like this to his son, Mike Shelby, that car was recently sold at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale 2015 for $440,000, another one of the 47 belonged to Jim Morrison of the Doors. Note, the side strips, the rear trunk emblem, dash emblem and the radio antenna were all deleted for a clean look. These items can easily be added by new owner for originally if desired. Prior to painting, exterior of car was media blasted with walnut shells, body panels all fitted to perfection, then painted with 2 stage paint, all new suspension and running gear, nothing was overlooked, nothing compromised. Everything is to new specifications or better. There is approximately 400 miles driven on car since restoration completion. This car has a 427 side oiler, with the factory Dual Quads, automatic transmission and factory A/C. a 98 point plus restoration, has original California black and yellow license plate, engine runs on modern pump gas, A/C works great, car runs beautifully. The sound of the Cobra Jet, cast iron exhaust on this big block is breathtaking and can't be mistaken for anything else. This car looks and runs like a brand new car.
