Vehicle Detail
Family's fourth car. No longer needed because my nephew moved to New York and does not need a car in his new apartment. This car needs a new home. Ideal first car. New tires all around. No mechanical, electrical, or body work problems. No rust. The seats and interior are 95% of new. No tears or stains on the upholstery. The body may have some dings and scratches (see pictures) but there is no significant body damage. The car has been driven gently and regularly. Although I am selling the car as is,with no warranties, written or implied, I welcome all inspections. I have sold my last 5 cars on ebay. See my feedback. Be realistic. You are bidding on a 8 year old car in good condition. The stereo head unit's LCD display has somewhat dimmed over the years. Everything works....Power windows, power door locks, sunroof, all the lights, interior and exterior. Please see the photographs and feel free in asking any questions. On Jun-07-15 at 06:25:58 PDT, seller added the following information: This is probably the best Vibe/Matrix on Ebay for year and mileage. Regularly serviced(next oil change at 99,000 miles). Clean inside out. If you have no feedback please contact me first. On Jun-08-15 at 07:56:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Full Payment will be accepted as Cashier's Check. The car and title will be released ONLY after check has cleared. Any questions or concerns? Please ask now. On Jun-09-15 at 08:11:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Pontiac Vibe The Vibe Line Body styles Wagon Drive wheels Front or AWD Trim lines Base, GT Engines & transmissions 1.8-liter 4 (123 hp), 1.8-liter 4 (130 hp), 1.8-liter 4 (170 hp); 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 4-speed automatic Base price range $16,430-$20,455 HIGHS | Access, interior flexibility, fuel economy. LOWS | Driving position, engine noise. The Pontiac Vibe and its twin, the Toyota Matrix, are tall wagons based on the Toyota Corolla. The Vibe’s compact dimensions, versatile interior, and good fuel economy make it a handy, nimble, economical runabout. However, a flawed driving position and a boomy engine detract. The Vibe is the only vehicle in this group available with all-wheel-drive. It has been very reliable. SECURE LOCATION The cargo floor and the back of the rear seats are covered in hard plastic. A built-in tie-down system makes it easy to secure cargo. Reflections were notable from the chrome-ringed gauges (above, top). PACKAGE DROP The Vibe’s rear window opens separately from the gate, which is handy for loading small items in the rear cargo area. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE The Vibe rides firmly and feels slightly jittery but isn’t objectionable. Noise suppression is mediocre, and some drivers tired of the booming engine noise. Handling is secure and responsive, and the steering is fairly quick, with some feedback. The Vibe was secure and forgiving in our emergency avoidance maneuver. We could not find a vehicle equipped with optional electronic stability control. The 130-hp four-cylinder engine provides adequate acceleration but is noisy. The well-calibrated, four-speed automatic transmission downshifts energetically and makes the Vibe feel responsive. The wagon returned an impressive 27 mpg, the best of this group. Braking was very good overall. Low-beam headlights lacked distance. High beams reached a good distance, but a distinct cutoff reduces visibility over dips. INSIDE THE CABIN The Vibe’s interior is well-constructed, with attractively grained hard plastics. The headliner and visors feel a bit cheap, though. Most drivers found the steering wheel too far away. The steering wheel tilts but does not telescope. The small rear window, large rear head restraints, and tapered side windows obscure rear visibility. The front seats are comfortable and supportive but lack lumbar adjustment. Rear seats have abundant head and leg room even for tall adults. The tall roofline and broad doors facilitate easy access. Complaints centered on the instruments, which were too bright at night. Dimming the dashboard lights made lights on the controls too faint. Moderate interior storage includes a fairly large glove box and a deep center console. There are four cup holders. A household electrical socket on the dash is handy for charging batteries or running a laptop. The 60/40-split rear seats easily fold in one step for extra cargo room. The front passenger seat can also fold to accommodate long items. With the full liftgate open, the cargo floor is flush with the bottom edge of the rear liftgate, making loading easy. With the rear seats folded, the Vibe holds 26.5 cubic feet of cargo. SAFETY NOTES Side and curtain air bags are available as part of an optional $745 package. Driving with kids. Some infant seats may tilt in the rear, and reaching the LATCH attachments is awkward. On Jun-09-15 at 08:28:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I added an excerpt from the Consumer Reports road test for your amusement
