Vehicle Detail

Fair-condition, 5-speed manual transmission, black exterior, black interior, ~250Kmi, many extras, also some issues. Extras: Borbet 15in wheels, lowered sport suspension w camber kit (keeps the insides of the tires from wearing down prematurely), Remus stainless muffler. Also refurbished the interior, removed interior carpet, sanded and applied rhino liner coating to the lower interior and trunk (to remedy some water residue in the car when I purchased it). Original seats have been replaced with sport seats, but I have the original seats and will sell them with the car for possible reupholstering. The trunk has a custom interior/carpet with Kenwood main amplifier and subwoofer amplifer, Also, Kenwood CD/AM/FM head unit and custom sound system wiring. The sound out of this system is great - even with the original factory speakers (4-1/2in, hard to find newer replacements in that size vs. the more conventional 5-1/4in speakers), the sound is better than the Harman Kardon system in my newer, '05 E46 as well as the Bang & Olufson system in my wife's Audi Q5. A very unique feature of this car is that there are two custom subwoofer panels built into the passenger seat left and right side interior quarter panels. This saves trunk space. It's a little crazy, but, worse case, you could leave them off and/or remove them if it's not for you. Battery less than 1 year old. Issues: power steering spotty, engine oscillates at low idle when coasting to a stop, but then settles out when the car comes to a full stop (I've tried mass airflow sensor cleaning, air filter cleaning and idle air control valve cleaning and testing, as well as checking for vacuum leaks, not sure if it could be a hard-to-locate small vacuum leak), the car pulls to one side under moderate to heavy acceleration and back to the other side under deceleration - probably needs new control arms/bushings, no AC (components removed), odometer plastic gears broken (not lapping miles, can be replaced easily), no headliner (started replacement project, and then I got married, bought a house, had kids.....), sunroof needs some tightening (but does not leak, I just don't use it). I am selling this car in as-is condition. I used to have time for maintaining and upgrading it, but with home, family and career, it is used very little, want my driveway space for other things. The engine runs very well once warm, very smooth, car handles extremely well. The clutch engages a little abruptly - I think the previous owner may have worn it, but it never loses grip under hard acceleration. The paint is in so-so condition, there are various nicks, some small body dents. I used some body filler to replace what was probably some minor rear-end damage to the driver's side tail-lamp gasket area and rear quarter panel, and the paint job blending I did was not top-notch, and so is visible, but not glaringly obvious. Transmission fluid replaced with Redline MTL for much smoother shifting. The timing belt has less than 10,000 miles on it, I did it myself for the second time while owning this car (14 years, since 2001) about 3 years ago, but have driven the car only occasionally for the past year. New water pump with timing belt job. New radiator and belts a few years back. Fuel pump replaced about 6 months ago. Rebuilt alternator doesn't have too many miles on it. Has adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fancy red ignition wires. Adult-owned - I'm 43 and have owned the car for 13 years. Extras I will include with the car, if desired, by the winning bidder: original front seats and extra rear seat, original rear trunk spoiler (not shown in pics, but can be reinstalled if desired), stainless braided brake lines (bought but never installed), new set of wheel hubs (bought but never installed), Thule top racks, will check garage for any others. Knowing the following this car has, I would expect an E30 enthusiast and/or possible track racer to find this car appealing - the reserve it set low to compensate for the issues, and there are a lot of nice extras to boot. I think I have represented the car honestly and accurately. I think it's a great car but just not for me anymore, I'd like to see it go to someone who has the time and capability of fixing the issues and being able to enjoy using it. I would prefer not to ship the car, unless the buyer handled all arrangements and had it picked up at my home. I'm flexible to work with people on local pick-up options. On Jun-04-15 at 19:21:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Based on some inquiries, I've added a few extra pictures - one of what is the worst rust spot along the passenger-side lower apron below the door - here, the coating has peeled and a small hole has actually formed. Along this area, there are some other patches where the coating has delaminated, and there is rust, but not rusted through. Some stripping, sanding, filler and repaint can remedy this. I also threw in a couple pics of the 10in subwoofers - these are not installed right now because I removed them when I started the headliner project, but I would reinstall them in their panels (cabinet grade plywood with black vinyl covering to match the interior - I'll throw in a picture over the weekend) and have them functioning for the winning bidder.
