Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback original Highland Green. It is in need of a full restoration. It does run and move. The brakes are bad so it cannot be driven. It will however pull up on a trailer/car hauler just fine. It is an original J code 302 4V, 4 speed manual transmission car. It currently has a 302 4V engine with a fairly rare Ford Aluminum his rise intake similar to those on a GT 350. It is a dealer ad on piece and retains a Ford casting number of C90X-9424-B. Sitting atop the intake is an original C8 date coded Holley carb (C8-9510-C). I am not sure on the date on the block itself. I will get it up in the air on the lift and provide additional underside pictures as well as date codes and type of 4 speed. The engine does run, the transmission goes into gear and moves the car just fine. When the brakes were up last year I drove it up and down our country road. It shifted through all gear and reverse good. It has dual exhaust. It has a 9 inch standard open rear gear. It has original power disc brakes and standard steering. Structurally the car is straight, front frame rails are good, shock towers are excellent (no holes), front torque boxes will need some repair and well as the rear rail extensions. The body itself is in need of some rust repair. It needs floor pans, a passenger side rear quarter, trunk drop on one side and the rest would be up to the new owner to either repair or replace the other obvious rust spots. The doors open and shut good, no sagging of any kind. The hood has the turn signal option. I am not sure of the car is a real GT but does have most of the GT options with the exception of power steering. They include painted GT wheels, pop open gas cap, dual exhaust and dual exhaust rear valance, deluxe interior, courtesy lights including low fuel, door, seat belt, shoulder harnesses, overhead console with map light, floor console with 4 speed plate (part that goes under the dash is missing), fold down back seat and in dash tachometer. All of these interior options are in working order. Good rear fiberglass and trap door. The car is in need of a complete restoration. It will make an excellent and valuable car when finished. It is a nearly complete car. Please look at the pictures carefully and ask any questions. I can be reached on my cell phone at 765-376-3486 or email through eBay. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!! I have additional I can text or email if needed. The front frame rails are in very good shape. The torque boxes will need to be repaired. I would suggest using a full floor but patches could be used. The rear frame rail are in great shape. Shackle mounts are solid. It does need each side of the trunk drops. The transmission is a correct C8 casted RUG E 2, small block wide ratio 4 speed. The engine is a D2 so it is not original. I do have a correct original air breather that will go with the car. The 9" rear end is a posi trac gear but is not a Nodular cased rear end. Thanks again and please get with me with any questions or offers. On Jun-01-15 at 13:45:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have a spare GT wheel and tire to throw in with the car. It is in good shape but will need blasted and painted. Also I thought that I would offer up delivery within a few hundred miles for a fee. Thanks
