Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Please read carefully before bidding/considering buying. I know this is a rather long listing, but it is what I would want to know/read, and out of respect to YOU the potential buyer that I am including all of it. Especially because this car is not running I want to be as transparent and informative/helpful as possible. If after reading through the listing you have any questions whatsoever please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’m pretty responsive by email. This could be a steal for the right person. The car has some nice modifications that could probably be parted out and alone be worth it. I just have no time or desire to do this. Please also consider than despite the low asking price/starting price, this is NOT a good car for someone that cannot fix this themselves, or afford expensive repairs, etc. Just trying to be honest here. Last week on the way home from work, car started misfiring heavily, then overheated and I guess damage was already done by time I pulled over. Apparently an old heater hose cracked and coolant was totally gone. According to mechanic heads are damaged, and I was quoted considerably more than the value of the car to repair replace heads, and a bad alternator. Not sure why alternator went out at same time. I am obviously not trying to get rich off this, make any profit, just prefer the idea of someone enjoying the car again instead of just selling it to salvage yard, etc. I have sold 2 cars before on ebay and have excellent feedback, and will do my best to tell you everything about the car. I thought I was the second owner of this car (but the VIN tool indicates third owner). Anyway, I have owned it for 8 years, bought car in Northern California in 2007. I haven’t had any problems up until last week, and it honestly makes me sick to part with it this way, but it doesn’t make sense for me to pay a mechanic more than worth of car. Also, I have 7 month old baby now and had been contemplating a bigger car anyway. The main thing is of course, it doesn’t run, and buyer is responsible for picking up/arranging shipping. Aside from the heads and alternator (and now battery), there are no other things wrong with the car, mechanically, other than cosmetic items. However, keep in mind this is a car with stock turbos at 155,000 miles. While they are to my knowledge fine now, they obviously don’t have too much time left on them. To my knowledge the APR tune is relatively conservative in comparison to some, and also I used this car primarily to commute, so maybe this is why they have lasted so long. Regarding body/exterior things- this includes rear bumper having a dime sized hole (see pic) and a bad scratch through paint, and hood probably needing repainting, due to rock chips and scratch in clear coat (but I guess that could probably be buffed out) Modifications include KW stage 1 coilovers RS4 replica wheels Remus exhaust https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo8JPTUuZDU (this is actual car, several years ago when it was running obviously) APR stage 2 ECU flash with 93 octane and 100 octane programs About 6 months ago I replaced driver’s side door hinges with OEM/new, it was sagging due to wear I guess, and was really annoying. About 2 months ago had completely new rotors/pads put on by local brake shop. Just stock, no big brake kit, etc. Interior wise, I found the center console thing was always annoying and getting in the way, so I removed it. I think I still have it somewhere, if I can find it and buyer wants it, I’ll include it. I didn’t like the chrome inside door latches (and a few were sagging, common problem with age I think), so I removed the latches to put new springs and when doing so had them powder coated flat black. I also wrapped the birds eye maple in the 3M adhesive, this can be easily removed, there are a few panels, notably on the doors, that have started to wrinkle a little. The center console and dash still look pretty nice, and if you didn’t know they were wrap, really look like aluminum. Anyway if you are local and/or have someone that is local to me that would like to check out the car in person you are more than welcome to do so. I am available by phone if I can answer any questions at all, or if you want any more specific photos etc.. NO WARRANTY! Please be clear this is an AS –IS sale, there is absolutely no warranty, I am completely certain the car does NOT run. What I have told you about the mechanical reason it doesn’t run is exactly what a reputable European car repair mechanic has told me. As far as I know, this is the only thing wrong (Although obviously a huge thing wrong!) BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR PICK UP/SHIPPING I am asking the winning bidder make $500 deposit within 72 hours and balance in full within 5 days. Thanks. 2) About a year ago the original key was getting worn out, so I bought another, the sale includes 2 standard fobs and one valet (see pic) 3) The tires are 235 potenza S-04 pole position. Mostly worn in back, but more tread remaining in front. The 235s are only slightly wider than the stock 225s, but I think with the coilovers it made the car look much tighter/sportier, especially from rear. I tried to take another pic to show this.On May-25-15 at 06:15:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Last thing- I realize after looking through all the pics none of them in that light really showed the clearcoat scratches very well. I took more another photo this morning, showing the superficial clearcoat damage. I think this could be buffed out, but personally I was going to just repaint entire hood anyway due to rock chips. If you have already bid and feel you need to retract your bid due to this I entirely understand (and apologize for not putting the better pic up earlier). I did mention hood needs repainting however. That is last thing I can think of/last update. Thank you!
