Up for sale, please find this rare 1957 Mercury TURNPIKE CRUISER coupe. This is one of 7,291 Produced, highly original, with its original Tuxedo Black paint and Two-Tone Red and Black Interior, and 128k actual miles. This Merc was my Uncle's pride and joy before he passed away last December. As recently as last Spring, he was driving it to local shows and meets in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. This car is going to require some refreshing, as it sat for the last 10 months. It is very straight and shows no signs of ever having been hit. Some of the chrome needs to be re-dipped, and the paint has a couple thin spots that could be touched up, and some touch ups that could be better. Options include : Rear window that drops down , aka "Breezeway Ventilation", Roof Level fresh air intakes,Skylight Dual Curve Windshield, 290 Horsepower 368 V8, Quadri-Beam Headlights, Average Speed Computer Clock, Tachometer, KeyBoard Controls (Shifter), Merc-O-Matic Drive, "Multi-Luber" system (applies grease to 11 points on the chassis with one dashboard control!!), Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, "Full Vision" Steering wheel, Dual Exhaust, and the Top of the Line Trim Package with Gold Anodized inserts on the rear quarters. It is a really handsome devil, in need of a good home. I didn't have time to get a new battery and do a proper Spring start-up with it, so the best plan is to tow the vehicle, and then give it some proper loving, check the brakes, etc, before taking it out on the road. Can be enjoyed, or given a lihght restoration, after it is roadworthy again. As I said, it was at meets last Spring. Thanks for Looking!
