Vehicle Detail
1975 BMW R90S Daytona Orange 38,850K Miles I am the second owner of this beloved bike – I have owned it since 1979 - 36 years. I’ve kept most receipts and have receipts of the original owner. Other that the first few months I owned it, its always been stored inside. Modifications to the bike are: 1) R100RS Fairing custom painted Daytona Orange by BMW Motorrad of St. Louis in 1982. RS Bars and dual Fiamm horns (loud!) 2) Krauser locking hard side bags 3) Lester alloy wheels 1981 4) Dual plug conversion with Andrews coil done by Freeman’s Cycles in Beverly, Mass in 1982. Valve Job and rear main seal replaced at the same time (receipt shows 35K miles). 5) Boyer Microdigital Electronic Ignition installed in 2012. Included are the original 90S bikini fairing, spoke wheels, handlebar mounted mirrors, S handle bars, headlight brackets, turn signals – just about everything you need to return to the stock original fairing and wheel configuration. Also included are engine crash bars that don’t fit with the RS fairing. The bike has the original toolkit and owners manual. The manual is rough but it’s all there and readable. The toolkit is missing a few original items such as smaller socket, pliers, feeler gage, and a couple of allen wrenches – pictured is what is included I purchased a new Yuasa Battery this spring. Carburators were rebuilt in 2012. All fluids recently replaced. I took the bike out for a ride yesterday and it runs very well. Even the clock works. It is a 40 year-old motorcycle though, so it is being sold as is without a warranty.
