Vehicle Detail

Link to video of car for phone and tablet users https://youtu.be/dA8YR9OjoBg Here is a 1964.5 Mustang hardtop. Orginally a 260 V8 with cruisomatic transmission, now has a correct 64.5 5 bolt 289. Has rare power steering and has had original style disc brakes added. Originally Skylight Blue, now Wimbledon white with blue stripe. Blue standard interior. It has the correct 64.5 hood and headlight buckets.Data plate reads as follows:Body 65A, Color Y (Skylight Blue), Trim 82 (blue standard), Date 22F (June 22, 1964), DSO 74 (Seattle), Axle 1 (3.00 conventional), Trans 6 (C4 automatic)The body is very straight with no dents. The paint is about 5 years old and is driver quality. I’d call it a 20 footer. The car has been driven and it has various chips, scratches and touch ups. Overall very solid with good floorpans, rockers, wheel houses, trunk, trunk drop offs and cowl. The left quarter is very solid, the right quarter has bubbles both in front and behind the rear wheel. There also bubbles in the lower left door toward the front and a couple bubbles in the right door. Body panels line up well and the doors do not sag. Glass is good, Chrome and trim is overall good but there it some bubbling in one section of the front bumper. The standard blue interior is decent but could use some work. The interior is stock with no extra holes cut for speakers etc. Dash is uncut and has an aftermarket AM/FM made to fit the original dash. Original AM radio is included. The driver’s seat has been reupholstered and new upholstery for the passenger seat is included with the car. The new front seat upholstery is not quite the same shade of blue as the rear seat so I would recommend purchasing rear seat upholstery to match. Dash has no cracks but is a bit worn. Carpet and door panels are a bit worn. Headliner needs replacement. The car was driven regularly until the original 260 engine blew up last year and was replaced with a used 5 bolt 289. Unfortunately somehow during the engine swap the flexplate was bent so that will need to be replaced before the car is driven very far. It does run and drive, however, the flexplate does make a bit of noise and causes the engine to vibrate more than it should. All that needs to be done is to unbolt the transmission and slide it back far enough to replace the bent flexplate. I would do it but I have a back injury and am not able to work on cars for a while. The engine does not smoke or knock. The engine appears stock and still has 2bbl carb, exhaust manifolds, correct 64 valve covers, timing cover and air cleaner, original Eaton power steering pump etc. The generator was replaced with a 1 wire alternator for reliability purposes. Transmission works well. Lights, wipers, heater, radio etc all work properly. Power steering has typical play. Tires are worn and will need to be replaced. Overall this is a straight, solid, good looking and mostly correct 1964.5 Mustang. Replace the flexplate and you should be able to start driving it right away. Until last year the car was driven regularly and was maintained by a local Mustang shop. I have tons of receipts that will go with the car. At some point the car should be restored but for now it looks good and would make a great no guilt driver. Vehicle is sold as is where is. It is available for inspection by appointment. I reserve the right to end the auction early but my intention is to let the auction run its course. In fairness to all bidders I will not disclose my reserve, however, it is very reasonable. Bidders with a feedback rating of less than 10 must contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. Car must be paid for in full within 5 days of auction end. Payment must clear before vehicle may be picked up. Shipping is the responsibility of buyer but I will be as flexible as I can to work with your shipper. Vehicle must be picked up within 21 days of auction end unless prior arrangements are made. International buyers welcome. I have done my best to describe the car but please understand that it is a 50 year old car that needs work.On May-12-15 at 20:08:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction to Vin, engine code is F for 260, not C. correct Vin is 5F07F174982. You can see data door plate in youtube video at about the 7:20 mark.
