We are selling our beloved 1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited SUV with 155.720 miles as an "AS IS" auction with no guarantee. We purchased this car in 2002 in virtually new condition from a Toyota executive whose wife no longer wanted an SUV. We are the second owners. This was our family car, was carefully driven and well maintained, including a timing belt replacement in 2009, at 109 k miles from local Toyota dealership(we have paperwork). The transmission and engine are in good driving condition. Engine sounds smooth when increasing RPM. It starts right up and handles well, does not burn oil or have any serious problems other than what is mentioned. It has been used, primarily as an additional car in recent years and is only being sold because of a new car purchase. The heat, a/c and sunroof, radio,electric windows, seats all work. The problems are as follows: recently the four wheel drive stopped working, (literally, one month ago) parking brake not working(cable froze so we had it removed), during heavy rain water seeps onto carpeting in one side of trunk area. . Valve covers leak oil and we hear an exhaust leak. Also, hood has sticky spring which needs a little tlc to close properly. The remaining issues are mostly cosmetic: a front bumper piece broken off and front light fixture taped in place; small ding to back rear bumper and other minor dings but no fading to paint; noticeable excessive wear to leather steering wheel and some noticeable splits in leather of front seats, antenna motor working but antenna does not move, there is some under carriage rust including rust hole in rear bumper (shown in picture), and the truck will soon need brakes and tires. We believe this car still has a lot of life left and we hope it will find a great new home!
