Vehicle Detail

1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. A real one - not a clone. Check the VIN in the photo. Was a 383 car originally. It now has a 440. It is not a numbers matching car. Odometer says ~25,000. It most likely has rolled-over once, so it could be 125,000. I do not know. Car is NOT mint or show condition. It has had an amateur restoration. The paint is the "good from 10 ft" type. No rust - all rusty panels were replaced years ago and it has been garaged ever since. Equipment: Drivetrain: Engine: 440 ci bored .060 over w/Mopar Performace (MP) cam. Heads are standard big block cast iron milled slightly to yield about 9.2:! compression ratio. Hardened valve seatsHeaders, orange-box Mopar electronic ignition, Edelbrock Performer manifold, Carter AFB 4 barrel carb.4 Speed transmission w Pistol Grip shifter Sure-Grip rear end 3.91 ratio.New gas tank and sender and nearly new battery. Hemi rear leaf springsAir shocks in the rearAll suspension bushings have been replaced with OEM type. Body: Rear quarter and trunk floor have been replaced.Car has been repainted the original "Tor-Red" Mopar color. Its really more orange than red.Glass is good all around. All of the chrome trim is there. Not all in perfect condition.Air-Grabber Hood. Interior: No rips or tears in the seat upholstery.Carpet was replaced. All seat and shoulder belts are there.Rallye dash. The clock is intermittent. Other gauges work. Tires: BF Goodrich Radial T/A, 15 inch on 15 X 8 steel rims Known issues: Runs very rough and won't idle. Its been sitting for years. Suspect the carb. The air grabber hood is complete and works but it needs the switch in the dash. To use the air grabber air cleaner, you will need to replace the Edelbrock Performer intake manifold with something with less rise or the hood will not fully close.Has a Holley electric fuel pump, but might switch it back to the mechanical pump. Either way the Holley pump goes with the car.Clock usually doesn't work.Couple of minor nicks in the paint. Some of the chrome trim isn't great. This car comes with:Fitted car cover.383 short block, if you want it.A couple of extra chrome pieces.Air grabber air cleaner and a small round air cleaner. Also, a 3.55 Sure Grip 3rd member is available to the winning bidder for another $250. No warranty. Sold as-is where-is. Bring a trailer. For more info or additional pictures contact me. On Apr-21-15 at 19:06:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional info: Tire size is 275-60R15. This car has manual steering and with the wide tires it is really hard to turn at low speeds. It was probably fine with the skinny 14's from the factory, but it really needs power steering. I do have a power steering pump (with a bent pulley), a power steering box and maybe a steering column. This would all go with the car at no extra charge. The 3.91 rear end is a "742". The 3.55 is a "489" Bottom line: This is never going to be a show car. But with a little money and time it could be a real nice driver. On Apr-22-15 at 05:28:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Added some pics: Fender TagAir Grabber in open positionSmall, approx 1/8 hole in fender by driver side mirror. someone must have drilled this hole long ago for a replacement mirror. The body man forgot to fix it. The car now has the correct Mopar mirror w/working inside adjustor. Someone asked about a tag or VIN on the drivers door. I do not see any thing like this. Must be long gone. VIN is RM23N0C161834 On Apr-22-15 at 06:37:14 PDT, seller added the following information: My apologies, yet another correction: Looking at the title, the correct VIN is: RM23N0G161834. On Apr-22-15 at 07:54:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Other Mopar Performance items on this car: Windage trayLightweight StarterDual row timing chain & sprocketAluminum Valve CoversRear end Snubber. The cam is a "Purple Shaft". .509 lift, if I remember correctly. On Apr-23-15 at 08:49:51 PDT, seller added the following information: A bidder requested photos of the rear frame area. These have been added to the listing. There's some surface rust and a little flaking on the rear frame member by the back bumper. Still looks solid, though. On Apr-26-15 at 15:45:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Another correction. The cam is .484 lift, not .509 as stated in the listing previously. I photo of the tag on the box with the specs has been added to the listing. Sorry for the mistake. Also, many have asked "what I would take right now?" My answer to all has been: "I am going to let the auction run its course". This is only fair to those who have bid in good faith. I do appreciate your interest, but I would urge you to use the auction to communicate your best offer. Thanks
