For sale is a beautiful, completely rust free 1966 Beetle. It was repainted a few years ago in original Bahama Blue. The interior was redone also. While it is not show quality, the cosmetic work done is beautiful!! I am the 3rd owner. The original owner actually was an old lady who drove the car for many years on the San Francisco peninsula, and always kept it in her garage(ZERO RUST). All floor pans are original, as is the 6 VOLT electrical system which works perfectly. Air tight cabin & the heater works perfectly. Brakes & steering is excellent!! The engine has just over 1000 miles on it. It was painstakingly detailed and rebuilt to be as it was when original. All machine work was done locally by one of the best VW & Porsche engine builders in the area(Jansen Enterprises). The Rotating mass, along with the 180mm flywheel has been has been dynamically balanced. The single port heads have been ported with new TRW valves,with a 3 angle cut and new maganese guides. I used scat swivel feet adjusters, which both quiet the valve noise, and allow for increased longevity of the guides. The cam is a super 1600 cheater with an aluminum 6ear. The case has been full flowed, and a 26mm schadek provides the pressure. Engine was broken in with Brad Penn and has only been run with Brad Penn 20-50w since break-in. Engine has a doghouse cooler and a working thermostat(original) system, which dramatically improves cold weather performance. Car came equipped with the early 4.37 trans, meaning punchy driving around town. It will easily do 60-65MPH. If you want a faster top end you can swap the trans for a 4.12. I HAVE TO REPEAT AGAIN, THIS CAR IS COMPLETELY RUST FREE!!!!!! Paint has a few chips & scratches, but nothing you can see from 5 feet away. Bumpers have some pitting and dings, and the AM radio(original) does not work as it is not connected. But it has all the original engine tin, and this car starts perfect, shifts perfect and runs like new. I hate to let this one go but I need the money(Paramedic school). THIS IS NOT A PROJECT CAR!! THIS CAR IS AN EVERYDAY DRIVER WITH NO ISSUES!! IF YOU TREAT IT WELL, RUN THE GREEN OIL & KEEP YOUR VALVES ADJUSTED, IT SHOULD LAST ANOTHER LIFETIME!! I HAVE TO RELIST BECAUSE MY PREVIOUS LISTING WAS SABOTAGED BY A LAME BUYER!!!! THE CAR IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY!
