This jeep CJ7 was bought by a friend this past summer. A true barn find. He brought it to me to go through to get running. I had it running in about an hour. I have since replaced the plugs, plug wires dist. cap, and rotor in the ignition system. A new battery and fuel pump. It has also had the upgrade for the heater blower motor, much better! The carter carburetor has been replaced with a new MC2100 2bl unit and adapted to use the original breather setup to keep the factory appearance. It starts, idles and runs like it is supposed to. It is far superior to the old carter carbs that they came with. The dash components don't light up all the time. I'm sure it's a ground. Speedo does. The pulls that operate the heater and such will need to be greased. Cosmetically the jeep looks pretty good a few scuffs and scrapes but no major dents. The hood has a little place right in the center that looks like it might have a place with some bondo on it but I can't tell for sure. It doesn't look to ever have been in any major accident of any kind. The only thing as far as the body goes is the windshield frame. It seems to have a slight bow in it like a tree limb might have fallen on it. The canvas top looks nearly new and is in great shape as are the soft doors. I have been driving this jeep around for a few weeks and it has done very well. Drives just like a jeep is supposed to. It would make a great trail rig or a fun weekend runabout. It does have a crack in the glass. It does not impair your vision. I shimmed the holddown brackets so the doors would line up better but I have not used them or the top much. I'm a open top kind of guy. If you are going to make it more of a daily driver you will probly want o get a windshield/frame. I do also have the wipers and they do work. I flushed the brake system and they work fine. Tranny is a 3sp standard. There is plenty of clutch, no problems shifting. Tires have lots of tread but are cracking some. There is no death rattle or anything like that that I can hear. The timing mark holds pretty steady, I don't forsee needing a new chain/gear any time soon. There is none. All the work and upgrades listed I know were done. I have only driven around town and the jeep is running out very well w/ no major issues that I can find.
