Up for auction is a 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton W12 AWD. I recently acquired this car from a client as partial payment for services but really have no need for another vehicle since I currently have 5. The car only has 77k original miles on it and has always been garaged and well maintained. It starts and runs excellent. I just had it checked out at the VW Audi dealer in South Bend and they gave it a clean bill of health. If you are in the market for a W12 Phaeton, then you already know what an incredible car this is. I've owned many exotic and performance cars over the years and have to say this car is nothing short of exhilarating. It will rocket you from 60 to 110mph in a blink on an eye and still remain as quiet and stable as if taking a Sunday drive through the neighborhood. Most of the Phaetons imported were black with a cream or tan interior. This one is a rather rare color with a Coucou gray metallic exterior and a very deep navy interior. The photos do not do the interior justice as it is much darker and deeper in color than the photos show. The photo with the manual on the front seat shows more of the true interior color Everything to my knowledge works on the car but to be honest, there are so many features, I probably have not even experienced all of the options. It's ridiculously loaded with every creature comfort you could want in a car. The interior is near perfect and incredibly comfortable. The exterior paint is also excellent with only a few blemishes and a few small dings and scratches. Unfortunately the previous owner lent the car to a friend for a couple of months in Chicago and it experienced some terrible curb rash on all four wheels. Not that noticeable from a distance but it's evident up close. There is absolutely no rust on the car but there are a few spots of oxidation on the aluminum B pillars where the paint has flaked off (see photo) The car also has a chip in the front windshield which was repaired at some point. Two new batteries were just installed as well as a complete brake job less than 500 miles ago. I've taken the car on a couple of short trips (250 miles) and it has performed perfectly. The sticker price in 04 was a bit over $90k an it drives like that kind of car. Since I have only had this car for a very short time, I do not have any receipts for maintenance I've done other than one oil change ( Mobil One Synthetic which this car has always used). I am trying to track down any paperwork from the previous owner which might be beneficial and will include with sale if possible. Also, I've been asked if there are any dash warning lights which appear when the ignition is on. Since I've owned the car only two lights have come on. One is the low tire indicator which has come on several times but does not remain on always. Tire pressure has remained constant since I've owned the car. The other indicator which has come on is the ride height indicator light. The operational system does work and the car does raise and lower with the touch of the button. The light does not always remain on so I'm not sure of the reason since the system does work. No other lights or warnings have appeared since my ownership.
