Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice example of an early Triumph Trophy 250, 1968. It features most of the original parts except for the speedometer and tail light. The Head Lamp is period correct but the correct head lamp did not have an amp meter. This is a Lucas Headlamp and a nice example so I left it alone. The head lamp is what came with the motorcycle. The paint is beautiful with the correct color scheme, striping gold pin stripe down by hand by a professional. The seat is I think original and has not been recovered. The seat is in good shape but mildly faded. The Muffler and Heat shield are in excellent condition accept for an almost imperceptible chrome discoloration on the top inside portion that must be explored to find. The heat shield is rarely ever found with these motorcycles and the chrome though not perfect is original and in very good condition. The front forks have be restored with new seals and gators. The top end has been honed with new rings and valves have been reseated. The valve adjustment for the exhaust valve is at the end range of recommendation. A mechanic with years on the BSA and Triumph singles thought the valve may have been seated to deep and causing the extra top end noise. The bottom line is the motorcycle does not smoke, runs fine, but is a noisy little fellow. There is the usual mild leaks around the head since these bikes are known for not having the best machining the gaskets rarely keeps all the oil in. The good news is you know it is getting oil to the valves and cam! There is a saying among Brit owners especially BSA and Enfield is when you have no leaks you are out of oil. This I have found to be mostly true not always. This bike seeps a nominal amount of oil. It is by far the nicest looking TR-25 I have ever seen, judge for yourself. This is a used British motorcycle so you need to know this is not a maintenance free motorcycle, and requires knowledge and some tinkering to keep it going. I would not use it as a daily rider. Romp down a gravel or dirt road now and then or a secluded county road is always fun. Daily, and night riding is not something I would expect from the little beauty. I have tank knee pads for the bike but I could not bring myself to glue them to this beautiful paint. The Bike Features: Fresh Paint, New Tires, All Lights work, Original Lucas Wiring, original Amal Carb recently cleaned Happy Bidding
