1957 Chevy Bel Air 2 door Hardtop, a true BARN FIND! 4-Speed, '62 327 engine This is a Bel air, 2 door '57 Chevrolet car. This was found in a barn in December 1987 and has been kept indoors on a dry wood barn floor ever since. The Bel Air chrome that runs around the car is all there and a couple of the pieces have damage, but not all of them. The Bel Air panels are in good shape. The driver side floor has a little rust in it, but it will be easy to replace what is rusty on the floors. The trunk is very solid and the car sits straight with good suspension and it rolls nice. The drives side lower quarter has some minor rust too. The front glass is broken and the drivers side has dent damage from the front to back. The rest of the windows are all in very good shape. The rear glass is in really nice shape. It has it's original interior that is in good shape for a survivor, but it could use replacing if you were restoring it. These '57 Bel Air Hardtops are getting more difficult to find in barn fresh condition. This is a good car that does not need a long time or effort to finish and can be on the road quickly as it turns over. I changed the oil and I had this car running good about a month ago. However, I attempted to get it started and running to record and list a video in this auction of it running, but I couldn't get it to stay running long enough to record it. Please be advised... I had a mechanic look at it, he said it's ignition related. The engine is complete and I drove this car into a barn in 1995. It should run and drive again as is just fine.
