Vehicle Detail
This 1970 CB750 in Candy Blue Green is probably one of the best low mileage examples you could ever find of an early die cast K0. Although many old parts have been replaced with OEM NOS Honda parts, the bike has been kept true to show room stock in every possible way. There aren't very many of these 45 year old motorcycles left, and very few of them are as clean or are running as well as this one does. Everything works as it's supposed to, and although it isn't a show bike, it looks like one to most observers. This bike was the one ridden on the 2014 Quail Motorcycle Gathering Quail Ride in Carmel, and it was displayed on the show field by VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE RESCUE at the Quail. The important service work has all been done, these are just some of the new parts installed: 1. Brakes front and rear;2. New correct size Heidenau Vintage Series tires, tubes, and rim strips;3. Swing arm dismantled and serviced with lithium grease; 4. New AGM sealed battery installed;5. New control cables installed and adjusted;6. Lens covers replaced with NOS on speedometer and tachometer;7. Seat replaced with high quality reproduction K0 seat;8. Sandcast wrinkle tank is clean inside and free of rust;9. New chain installed;10. Air box and side covers are new from Yamiya;11. New air filter element installed;12. Carburetors were ultrasonic cleaned and completely rebuilt using new Honda parts;13. Carburetors syncronized and idle adjusted;14. Valves and timing set;15. New Honda correct style early acorn mirrors installed;16. Engine case screws all replaced with stainless Allen head bolts;17. NOS left and right control switches installed;18. All rubber parts on the bike were replaced with NOS.19. Original Honda HM300 mufflers with factory baffles, only flaw is minor etching on lower inner pipes under bike;20. New fuel petcock;21. All electrics work as they should, only flaw is yellow turn signal crystal is pressed down in instrument;22. All of the paint is in very fine condition, no fading, scratches, dents or dings anywhere.23. Comes complete with its original tool kit in the original 1970 soft black Honda tool bag. Look at the photographs and see that this is an excellent running motorcycle that could win local shows. Those 13,869 miles are the actual mileage on the bike since new, and it looks it and rides as it did back in 1970. It's a 45 year old bike so it's sold without warranty, express or implied. Deposit of $500 is due via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction end, shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but we will assist your shipper in picking up the bike. We highly recommend Daily Direct Haul Bikes for the transport of this motorcycle anywhere in the continental USA. This auction is restricted to USA buyers only, no international shipping will be accommodated. If you have any other questions, please ask them before you place your first bid. Good Luck! VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE RESCUEFolsom, CA 95630 On Jan-21-15 at 15:08:24 PST, seller added the following information: New DYNA electronic IGNITION and DYNA COILS and wires have been added to this bike to eliminate concerns about the stock points ignition set up and age of the coils. On Jan-22-15 at 19:01:56 PST, seller added the following information: There is an issue about whether the fuel tank on this bike is actually a "wrinkle" type tank, so all bidders are advised to bid with the understanding that this tank is NOT a wrinkle type tank, if it makes any difference to you.On Jan-25-15 at 10:43:44 PST, seller added the following information: The reserve has been met and this beautiful K0 will sell tonight to the highest bidder. Thanks to the many of you that have written with questions and kind comments about the bike, and your personal experiences with a similar one. When we were putting this back together it wasn't about the money or what it might eventually be worth, this bike was my personal rider because my other ruby red K0 (which took 1st Place in Superbikes Class at the 2014 Quail and scored 99.25 points at AMCA Dixon), could not be ridden and remain a show bike. Then I went to the 2014 Mecum Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas, just to "look", and you can guess the rest of the story. So this bike is being sold, and I hope it goes to someone who appreciates the time and attention that went into her and will be a good caretaker for many years. It will be hard to say Goodbye when I put her on the truck. Best regards, Don
