Vehicle Detail

2004 Kia Sorento LX – 4X4 Automatic SUV - By Original Owner Low Starting Price of $2,850 and NO RESERVE. Up for sale is my 2004 Kia Sorento LX 4X4. I am the original and only owner of this automobile and I have maintained it as per the local Kia dealer’s recommendations since new. Currently, the Kia has 161,000 miles on it. I just had a timing belt service / replacement completed at 159,000 miles. It’s probably been the most reliable, trouble-free vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s still in really good condition for its age and miles and I would expect that there’s still a lot of life in the old girl. I have too many other cars and she needs to go to a new home. Kelley Blue Book says she’s worth $3,328 in Fair condition and $3,800 in good condition. NADA says she’s worth $5,375 if she was in “clean retail” condition. She’s definitely in better than Fair condition so, the $2,850 starting bid price is very reasonable. The interior is in really good condition and there are no rips or tears anywhere in the upholstery. It’s never been smoked in so, you won’t need a gas mask to drive her. Mechanically, she’s in very good condition with the engine running smooth, tranny shifting nice, 4 wheel driveline working great and the brakes stopping as they should. The BF Goodrich T/A tires all match and are in good condition with about ½ of their useful life still remaining. The Kia was involved in a very minor (less than 10 miles per hour) “fender bender” a few years back and the driver’s side front fender was repainted. The front bumper was also bumped slightly in the accident resulting in a crack above the license plate that’s almost unnoticeable. The damage was so minor that I opted not to have the bumper repaired or repainted. Excluding the repainted fender, all other body and bumper panels still wear their original paint. I live in the “buckle” of the “rust belt” and you can see from some of the pictures that there are a few places on the body where rust is developing. You’ll also notice from the pics that the button that dims the dome light actually pushed through the dash panel. It’s still there, I just haven’t fished it out and repaired it. Also, over the past several months, I’ve noticed a gasoline smell that’s been getting stronger. It looks like there’s a leak coming from the top of the gas tank (where I can’t get to) and I’m assuming that there’s probably a rubber connection between the hard gas lines and the tank that has dry rotted and started leaking. I would encourage anyone who’s interested in buying the Kia to come and take a look at her before bidding. Pictures are worth a thousand words but you can’t beat seeing, touching and hearing a vehicle in person before buying it. If you have questions that either the pictures or my write-up haven’t answered, I’ll be glad to answer them. Also, note that she’s being sold “as is” and “where is” without any warranty either expressed or implied. Once the vehicle leaves my property, I will not accept a return or provide a refund of any kind. I require a $750 deposit within 48 hours of the auction’s end with the balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction close. Good luck bidding.
