Vehicle Detail

We are selling our 1988 Mustang LX Convertable that is really nice condition. My local Ford dealer has told me that the syncronizer in the transmission is going out as it grinds going into 2nd gear. He told me it would cost me $1700.00 to fix and recommended to take it to a Aamco or some other transmission shop like that and the repair would be much cheaper. Other than that it is mechanically sound and I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere. The good on this car is it is mostly all original. Very nice original paint with very minor nicks in the paint. The battery and alternator were replaced a year ago with Motorcraft parts. The muffler also was replaced at Midas around a year ago as well. The rear glass window was replaced at a cost of $500.00 in June or July. Both headlights were replaced the right side headlight housing would fill up wih condensation and burn out the lightbulb so I drilled a couple of holes in the bottom of that so the new owner can leave it or get a new one. The power mirror switch needs replaced yet. I did fix the ashtray lid with a used metal one and it now works perfectly. There is no ashtray though because I use a cup holder there which I will leave in the car but if the new owner wants a ashtray I can get a used one from a parts car my brother has. When we got the car the cassette deck worked but has quit working I imagine the belt broke. The radio still plays great. By the way the tires have only 4000 miles on them and are Firestones. I bought this car almost 4 years ago and we have only put 4000 miles on it. My wife and I only drove it on nice summer days. We have lost our garage space for it so it is sitting outside now and it just breaks my heart and I feel it needs a new owner with a garage. That is the reason I am not fixing the transmission. My asking price reflects the condition of the transmission problem so the new owner can get that fixed and still will have not too much into it. My pictures are of the car when we first bought it. The car has not changed a bit from then but when it quits raining and we have a sunny day I will update with current photos but car looks identical. No sales outside of the USA. Paypal, Certified check, or cash. Buyer to arrange shipping. I can drive car to local truck stop to meet a car hauler if needed.
