1959 CHEVROLET APACHE 31 TRUCK SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE!! VIDEO is here (copy and paste into your browser) http://youtu.be/3bS5m9HU7k0 I have owned this truck for the past 5 years. The previous owner had it restored in 2006 (conclusion from the dates on the receipts). I have no idea what condition the truck was in when he purchased it. I've probably put less than 1000 miles on it in that time. New kids (triplets) have prevented us from enjoying it at all the past years. It has always been parked in the garage and also enjoys a 'smoke-free' environment. I'll do my best here to describe the truck (especially the issues) but really don't know the 'car talk' jargon. 1959 Chevrolet Apache 31 (according to the side emblems). It is a California truck always registered and insured while in my possession. The truck is turquoise in color inside and out. The truck appears to be rust free underneath with painted (or undercoating). With what I don't know but perhaps the receipts will answer that question. The truck starts right up without problems, drives fine, steers clean and stops on a dime. The truck bed was restored using an oak/chrome kit (see pictures) and includes oak rails. The interior is very clean with newer upholstery (black/white 1959 appropriate) and the same turquoise color on the dash, door panels, areas around the headliner etc. The headliner is black and perfect. The visors are black and free of blems, rips, stains. I'm not sure what they call that thing on the dash but I've been told that it was used during that era to see traffic signals that were hanging overhead (i.e., when you were stopped at a light you couldn't see when it would turn green without contorting your head to look, but with this device that wasn't a problem). All levers (i.e., vents, heater) are in good working order. I have no idea what the 'yellow button' is for. The speedometer/odometer does NOT work. The box needs to be rebuilt or replaced ($125+ new through the parts houses). There is a separate temperature gauge installed below the dash, left side of steering column. The gas gauge moves but doesn't register a full tank. Oil pressure and charging system gauges appear to be working fine. The truck has black carpet (replaced in 2006) and is still in great shape. Door handles work fine. Wing vent handles are missing. Linear Series M3200CD AM/FM/CD Stereo Receiver mounted in wood cabinet is installed in the glove box. Under seat stereo speakers (I think 8" with small tweeter/subwoofer installed in both). Brake pedal cover is missing. 306 8-cylinder engine (dual exhaust) with a 700R automatic transmission (lever on the floor). Some chrome pieces on the engine (see pictures). No overheating issues whatsoever. Power steering and power brakes. (Previous owner told me in order to have power steering he also had to have power brakes). As such, the steering is very responsive probably even more so with the smaller custom steering wheel installed. Tires are good & the rims have some pitting but shine up really nice. I have been using premium gas but have been told that this was unnecessary. Issues: • Damage to front left fender During a recent move when I had the truck parked on the street for a few hours the truck was sideswiped damaging the front left fender. This revealed a bunch of bondo from a previous repair so it will probably have to be replaced. Steel fender replacements are easily obtained for about $250 + freight (per online). This also damaged the emblem for that side (which I have) but would probably need another which can be found here on ebay. • Paint issues Obviously a new fender would require paint. There are other nicks and scrapes. Some scraping on top of the lift gate, driver door, & front bumper. (All documented in photos). FYI for some reason the truck bed sides/back do not have the same quality of paint coating (same turquoise color but not as even/shiny). All documented in the photos. • Dash/gauges issues As noted earlier the speedometer/odometer is not currently working. The fuel gauge also is misleading but does move as you use fuel. Separate temperature gauage (works great) so the temperature gauge in the cluster is not working. • Glass issues Front windshield has a 3" vertical crack right side/bottom. All other glass in good condition. • Horn issues No horn (or relay system for that matter) is installed. • other miscellaneous issues Missing wing vent handles, light on transmission lever is not working (not hooked up), turn signal indicators on steering column don't return automatically (not sure if they are even supposed to), driver's door a bit sticky but still closes and locks tight. I'm not a mechanic and really don't know much about cars/trucks. But if you have questions please don't hesitate to email me and I'll do my best to answer them. I have receipts from the prior owner in a .pdf available upon request (via email). Please examine the photos closely and the video before bidding. VIDEO is here (copy and paste in your browser) http://youtu.be/3bS5m9HU7k0 TERMS OF SALE: A $750 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED (VIA PAYPAL) WITHIN 24 OF AUCTION CLOSE. I am using the Buy It Now format and will consider OFFERS via ebay using the "Make Offer" button on the listing. Please don't make an offer if you can't afford it or your first must get financing. Don't be afraid to make an offer as the worst thing that can happen is I will say no if it's too low. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of auction close (wire to my bank preferred). The winning party is entering into a binding purchase contract with seller. All forms of payment must clear my bank before the truck is released. Please do not bring a cashiers check or personal check and expect the vehicle to be released the same day. Purchase is final. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pickup. I will be happy to help but BUYER WILL MAKE & PAY FOR ALL ARRANGEMENTS. Seller reserves the right to end the listing early. This 1959 Chevrolet Apache is offered for sale outside of ebay as well.
