I personally owned this car for many years and it has been a very reliable piece of transportation. The engine is strong and the car is very quick. The car has a couple of issues that are listed below under Condition, so please read the complete add. This car has a 3.0L 6 cylinder engine which is a single overhead cam engine, not the dual overhead cam that had problems during the time-frame this car was produced. It has an automatic transaxle as it is front wheel drive. It also has anti-lock breaks, working cruise control, AM/FM Cassette, Air Conditioning (Needs Charge), Power Door locks, power windows, power seats, reclining seats, mirrored sun visors,fold-down rear seats, power side view mirrors, day/night rear view mirror, courtesy lights, & a center console. IN addition, the car has a new set of Firestone Winterforce All Season Snow Tires and an additional set of 4 older Winterforce all season snow tires. The condition of the body as well as the rest of the vehicle is evident in the images below. I can honestly tell you from personal experience, and inspection that this Taurus is a great value to the person who purchases it and I know this vehicle is a great deal. CONDITION Condition - Very Good - Need Some Repair General condition of the vehicle is referenced in the description above. In a bit more detail, the car runs and drive and stops. The transmission has been sticky in 1st gear but does shift to second, especially after the first shift. This is either solenoid or vacuum issue which should not be too horrible to repair. I was able to drive the car with this condition for 1 1/2 years without any degradation of the transmission. The water pump is leaking which was my reason for deciding to take the car off the road. I do not guarantee what the car needs to pass any state inspection, however the car is sound otherwise. The engine has been tested and started and the car shifts into gear and drives fine on the highway or locally. The water pump is leaking and I had to top off antifreeze in the overflow tank once every 1.5 weeks approximately. The windows in the car are controlled by the driver only. The passenger and rear controls were disabled by the MTA when it was a police car and since I had a young child, I found no reason to turn the controls in the rear back on.
