**** BROKEN TIMING BELT ***** This is an exceptionally clean 1991 Alfa Romeo 164S that has been in my possession since late 1998. It came to me while my family owned an auto dealership with approximately 91k miles. It has been driven only a few thousand miles since then, and has been garage kept. I have almost every service record since it was brand new, with most work having been performed by Algar Ferrari Alfa Romeo in Rosemont, PA. The exterior paint and leather interior are in excellent condition, save for normal signs of wear (far less than there should be for a vehicle of this age). The car is complete with the keys, remotes, owners manuals, floor mats, and Alfa Romeo Service Manual on CD ROM. After recently taking it out of storage, it suffered a broken timing belt. This occurred at very low parking lot speed. Prior to this incident, the car ran and drove very well. The power convenience features worked, clutch was good....overall a very nice example. I cannot imagine there are many 164 S models left in this condition. After much consternation, I have decided to move on from the car rather than fix it as I just don't have the time or space. It is my hope it will go to someone who knows what the car is and will undertake the repair to preserve it. Again, the vehicle has a broken timing belt and is INOPERABLE. By bidding, buyer accepts this condition and fully understands and accepts the ramifications a broken timing belt can have for an interference engine such as this. A $100 deposit via Paypal is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The balance is to be paid in cash or cashiers check within 7 days of the close of the listing. The vehicle will need to be towed from its location by the buyer or his/her authorized agent following delivery of payment and execution of title transfer at authorized PennDot/notary public location local to the vehicle's current storage location in Trevose, PA.
