Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Selling my 29 years young beautiful Mercedes 300d. I adopted my 300d from the original owners that bought it brand new. Brand New Bosh Diesel Injectors with Heat Shields $560 installed Replaced the Throttle linkage pivot bushings on firewall, linkage properly adjusted then also replaced shifter bushingNew Glow plugs $220 installed New Rebuilt Climate Control Unit $240 Drivers Seat repaired with Mercedes Source Kit $50.00 additional cushioning added. All fluids changed. Diesel Purge performed. Oil Changed less then 500 miles ago. It has a nice Pioneer stereo system in it and all 4 speakers are new I have a small box of spare parts that will come with my 300d. I drive the car almost daily or every chance I get so the miles will increase slightly during the course of the auction. If it were up to me I would love to keep this 300d but am inclined to sell my 300d as this car has a fan club of only 1 in my family (me). What I can tell you about the car is : Starts right up, first crank. It drives well; I just did a 300 mile trip in it. No issues. I had the cruise set at 80 mph for the most part. On one occasion I took it to 105 mph and it was pulling strong. The ALDA has been adjusted and cleaned. While driving it I honestly never feel like I am in a older diesel car, getting up to speed and keeping up with traffic is never a issue. This car is pretty original, well kept and has had a good life. I believe it has been repainted, the paint shines up well after a wash and wax but it does show some usual wear hear and there. The paint is not immaculate but it is very presentable. No Accident, the body is clean of any repair. No Rust. I do not know when it was repainted. I can try to get that info from the original owner if necessary. It even has the factory first aid kit that doesn’t look like it’s ever been used but the box lid is cracked. The vanity mirror doors are also cracked. A/C blows cold, Heat is hot and the climate is adjustable. Only the dash vents blow air. Engine wise The 3.0 liter Turbo Diesel is strong. The transmission shifts smooth, even when cold. The shift from first to second gear (once in a blue moon, I'm nit picking) is a touch firm. I have been told that’s normal. It drops 1 drop of oil from the turbo oil return line every now and then (needs a new seal) I showed it to my mechanic and he advised me not to worry about it. Oil level never drops between oil changes. The Sunroof , Radio Antenna, Power Windows and Tachometer, Rear window defogger and Power rear view mirror, cruise control all work. I mentioned these items specifically as on most 300ds they sometimes don’t work. The Dash is free of any visible cracks. The central locking works while the engine is running and about 15 minutes after engine shut down, after that the key only locks/unlocks the drivers door and front passenger door. Driver’s side seat does show some age but as mentioned earlier it has been reconditioned internally and it sits comfortable, to me at least. The chrome trim around the front windshield is slightly lifted in the middle of the windshield, slight cosmetic issue; honestly I don’t even notice it. Original spare and complete tool kit and jack in the trunk. I will try to post some videos with the engine running and of the acceleration if I get a chance. I have described the car to the best of my ability. I welcome questions. I would rather this 300d went to someone who has knowledge of these cars so that it can be cherished, cared for and maintained as needed. Please bear in mind that I make no warranties or claims, this is a older vehicle and accruing it is more of a adoption then anything else. This 300d will continue to serve you well and will require attention from time to time as it ages gracefully. Please bid only if you have a genuine interest to acquire/adopt this vehicle. Please do not bid on this auction if you have no interest or clue to the w123 300d world. I require a $200 deposit from the winning bidder and will work and assist in deliver as long as you make the arrangements and pay for the delivery. You may also fly in and drive it back home. I can pick you up from the air port. Local bidders are welcome to see it, just message me and we can work out the when and where.
