1962 Volkswagen Bug Beetle - 1200cc period correct motor - Running and Driving This is a really amazing Volkswagen. It has the perfect balance of patina and new. Really sharp - clean original looking car with top and rear (very rare) luggage racks. The car has a refreshed motor with rebuilt carb 30/31 PICT, new top end parts. 009 Dist with new cap, rotor and points. Has an alternator - new starter and battery. The motor also has brand new oil cooler and seals. The car has new shocks all the way around and the tires are in excellent condition. Brakes are great : stops nicely. The clutch is new and doesn't pop out of any gear - shifts extremely smooth with no noises at all. The interior has been redone - the seats are in excellent condition with no rips or tears (near perfect) The car has a new headliner and carpet. The door panels are original in decent shape. The floors are original and are in good shape - The drivers side is has no issues - the passenger side was patch at the battery area but it was done well - I've jumped on and pushed in from under - it's solid. The exterior of the car is in excellent condition for the age of the car. The front passenger fender was bumped and has a few little issues that give it some character. Overall the body is in excellent condition with very few dents. The paint is about a 6.5 - It has an older paint job but shines and looks really nice for a driver car. The stainless trim is very nice and the chrome bumpers have a perfect balance of bright shine and patina. Original smooth wheels painted two tone. The passenger door is difficult to open and the pillar will need to be repaired on the bottom. The drivers side will also need attention to the same area but the door does open and close. This is the only area that I found that has rust. It is repairable. All of the parts are available and I've gotten a quote on fixing it. Other than that it's just small tinker stuff.
