This is a 1974 Ford Pinto with a V8 transplant. The engine is a stock 302, two barrel carb, Transmission is an early a over drive ford automatic. A stronger 8 Inch rear has been swapped in as well with a posi differential. This car was modified for street driving. It is street legal and is a good cruiser and one heck of a fun car to drive. It does not have a heater, radio, wipers, lights work and passes NC vehicle regulation to get plates. It is strictly a stripped down version of a pinto that came with a 4 cylinder, the car can be driven on the street and driven to the track. 5 lug conversion in the rear with classic slotted rims and good tires on the front and the rear tires are ok, but you may want to replace (they were used for street and strip. All the shocks are in good condition. The interior has new carpet, the front seats are from a 99 ford escort. The back seat has been deleted and replaced with carpet and a custom rear cut out for fuel cell and battery location. The fuel cell is plumbed to with fuel line to the engine by a electric fuel pump. The fuel cell sits where the spare tire well was. Overall, the car is finished to my taste anymore additions are up to you. I would not recommend it as a daily driver, but it is perfectly suited for a weekend drive/cruise/fun car. If you wanted to race it, not much more is necessary. Maybe a few things here and there to fit your personal taste. It's not perfect and I know that, but I also know the value of the work and parts that have gone into it and the many our spent to get it where it is now. I WANT TO CLARIFY: This vehicle is a cruiser- in-town, to shows and meets, to the track and back, etc... It was not built or intended to be a long distance driver. I am confident that the car is mechanically sound and will do what it was built to do, but I CANNOT speak to the reliability of a long distance trip. I just need to clean it up and loaded to ship to you or you can come and pick it up and view the rest of my classic and race cars.On Nov-17-14 at 10:08:57 PST, seller added the following information: Comes with original dash unit, old master cylinder, front spoiler, custom painted hood scoop (on car), brakes have been replaced about a year ago, and comes with blue base coat paint to do any touch ups, or do some repainting of the car. You must remember to pull up on the shifter lever in front of the shifter in order to get out of park, into and out of reverse and neutral, but works fine when you get the hang of it.
