Vehicle Detail
Up for grabs is a running, driving, 1977 Dodge Powerwagon M880 4x4 Military Truck NO RESERVE. Originally a Military truck, it then went to the Forest Fire Service where it was in commission up until 2002 in Rhode Island, then sold off to the public. It ended up as some rednecks farm truck in NJ (where he painted over the fire truck red color with Exterior Green Paint), before selling it to me. Ive had it for 3 years now and primarily use it for home depot trips, camping trips, and hauling aroundd firewood i find. I drive it about once or twice a month. Ive done 100 mile trips with it, but mostly stay local. I have swapped out u-joints, replaced front brakes, spark plugs, distributor cap, and done the occassional oil change. This would be a great truck for someone looking to restore it back to its military glamour, a farm truck, or mudder. Either way, it needs some attention that I just havent had the time to give it. Here are the details: 1977 Dodge Powerwagon M880 Fulltime 4x4 Runs and Drives Engine: 318 5.2L Tranny: Torqueflite Automatic 727 3 Speed Odometer Reads: 65080 (Not Actual) Body is straight, but has rust issues over wheels, and passenger side rocker panel Surface Rust underneath, but nothing corroded to the point of no return Front Disc Brakes Rear Drum Brakes Long Bed (Tailgate is bolted on, needs a 2" piece of metal welded to fix it) 4WD LOW is currently not working 4WD High works fine Dana 44 Front Dana 60 Rear Inspected in Pennsylvania through December 2014 All Headlights, Turn Signals, High-Beams work Other quirks - This carbureted engine takes some flooding to get her going, but will start up in 10 Degree days. It always starts, sometimes it takes 1-2 minutes in the cold to get it going. The tranny shifts when warmed up, but seems to stay in 2nd gear until warmed up (???). The engine will idle fine, but bog down if you try to drive immediately after starting it up. Again, this thing likes to be warmed up first! No Reserve!
