1999 E300D Rare turbodiesel option US car. Engines in these cars typically go more than 500,000 miles. Gets 30mpg + depending on how you drive. I regularly get 35-38mpg highway. Car had a run in with a deer on the highway in Nebraska during a cross country trip in 2008 - and insurance totaled the car mostly as a tow to the closest mercedes dealer was a $3,500 tow for inspection after body repair. So I bought the salvage from insurance and fixed it myself. We patched it up to make it drivable, and finished our trip to Boston, then back to California. Damage was not major - Fender, hood, headlight, bumper cover, radiator and windshield. No frame damage. When the car returned to California it sat for a while before final repair - and I worked on it when I could Repairs consisted of: - New later model fenders, bumper and carbon fiber hood Full Carbon Fiber body kit. - New Headlights "Projector style" - New water pump - New radiator / hoses / belts - Viton o-rings and new fuel lines Fuel pump delivery seals replaced - ECU tune from some german guy on the east coast. - Eibach Lowering springs, new struts and shocks - New tires / Brake service - AC service / recharge After mechanical work and new body panels hung, car was professionally painted PPG gunmetal silver base coat clear coat with flattening agent added to clear to give an eggshell finish. Car looks like it has been "Wrapped" But is painted. Wheels and trim painted satin black. Car has only been driven several thousand miles since paint / upgrades and will provide years of service. California reg is out of date 1 year, so I will pay back reg if you are a california buyer depending on sale price. Car was originally purchased from a used car dealer in Van Nuys CA - And I believe I am the second owner. Car was just treated to Amsoil synthetic oil / filter change and was regularly maintained while I owned the car. Car will pass California smog.
